UP: Asif befriends minor girl on Instagram, arrested while taking her to Mumbai

Yet another incident of Grooming Jihad has come to light from Lucknow, where a minor Hindu girl was being lured to Mumbai. Prayagraj Police has arrested a man called Asif.

On further investigation, it was found that Asif had befriended the girl over Instagram and Free Fire Game and abducted her on March 12. The report suggests that on March 12, Asif ran away with the minor girl from her school who had gone to appear for her exam. Thereafter, he took her to his home in Azamgarh on March 13 and later left for Mumbai. On suspicion, Asif and the girl were apprehended from Prayagraj railway station by public and police was informed.

Prayagraj Police informed Lucknow Police about the case, who later found out that parents of the girl had lodged a complaint at the Mahanagar Police Station. A police team from the Mahanagar PS reached Prayagraj and caught the accused along with the girl. According to Mahanagar PS, Asif was in touch with the girl over the last two years. Asif hails from Azamgarh’s Dandwa Mustafabad village.

Asif took the girl, a 7th standard student, to his home on March 13 after informing his family members and fled with the girl the next day. Asif works as an air conditioner repairman in Mumbai. Lucknow Police has got Asif in custody and the girl has been returned to her parents.

  1. Fools! Pl. don’t show the face of the girl! Have some common sense. In such matters, you always keep the identity of the girl hidden. I have worked in this field for a long time, that is the first rule. What kind of “helpers” are these?

    • you are right. we had requested the person who posted the video on twitter to blur the girl’s face, but added the tweet to the article as a secondary source. But we have now removed it to protect her identity.
