In what appears to be yet another case of a Hindu child being brainwashed, groomed and lured to run away from home by a Muslim adult, a 17-year-old girl student has gone missing in Sri Dungargarh town, Bikaner district, Rajasthan.

As per sources, the girl, a Class 12 student of AG Mission School, went missing on June 30 after leaving her home. The girl’s father told Aaj Tak that his daughter and her teacher Nida Bahlim (daughter of Mohammed Rafiq Bahlim) were spotted in CCTV at platform # 1 in Jaipur railway station. Some sources suggest that the accused teacher Nida Bahlim is a relative of Abdul Gafoor, the owner of AG Mission School where she was teaching. It is also being said that the minor girl has taken her passport with her.

The FIR launched by the minor’s family says that the teacher and her two brothers, Naved and Junaid, are behind their daughter’s disappearance.

A large group of locals held a protest demanding a speedy investigation from local police and administration.

“These anti-social elements have taken the girl away. What if tomorrow the same happens with your daughter, CO (Circle Officer) saheb, SDM (Sub Divisional Magistrate) saheb?…..we will not rest, we will not leave them until they complete the investigation and recover the girl. We give you 20 minutes to discuss among yourselves and tell us what you are going to do. Then we will plan our strategy accordingly. The entire kasba (locality) is standing with the (victim) family. This is not a mere case of brainwashing and abduction – it is a matter of two communities, it is Love Jihad,” a man can be heard saying to other protestors.

There are some suggestions that the teacher had been grooming the girl and gradually winning her trust for the last few months.

As per OpIndia, the girl’s father has also accused the school administration of complicity in the conspiracy behind his daughter’s disappearance. According to him, the school staff members were aware of the disappearance of his daughter and Nida Bahlim but kept quiet about it. The victim’s relatives forwarded a copy of the complaint to DGP Rajasthan.

Police have started the investigation by registering this case under sections 363, 366 and 120 B of the IPC and 84 JJ Act.

Surprisingly, Bikaner Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam stated that the girl ‘went of her own free will’ – virtually handing a clean chit to the adult teacher – but since she is a minor, police is treating it as a kidnapping case. She said that four police teams had been sent out to trace them and ‘assured’ that the two would be located soon.

Police said a preliminary probe suggests that the girl and her teacher were in a ‘relationship’ for a long time and that the duo has apparently ‘eloped’.

Again, it is disturbing that police is putting out such statements, which sound both slanderous and almost condoning of an adult grooming a child, rather than focus on recovering the minor!

“We have lodged a case of kidnap against the teacher. The girl is a minor as her age is 17 years and five months. Even if there is consent from her in going away with her teacher, it is not admissible in law. So we have registered a case of kidnap against the teacher,” SP Tejaswini Gautam told Times of India.

And then, gratuitously, the SP added the standard remark, the calling card of all officials of the ‘secular’ Indian Republic, “We will take action against people who spread rumours that can disturb communal harmony.”

This is not the first time that SP Tejaswini Gautam has seemingly tried to downplay a crime against Hindus. Last year, when neo-convert Christian parents were forcing their son and his wife to leave Hindu Dharma & desecrate Hindu deities, she (Alwar SP at the time) termed it a ‘family dispute’. Alwar administration had also demolished a 300-year-old Shiv temple & 150 Hindu homes and shops as part of a road widening project during her tenure as SP.

In a heartening sign, the locals are not falling for these deflecting and intimidatory tactics of police and administration, and are demanding that highly-paid senior government servants perform their bare minimum duty. Shockingly, it is being said that the girl was brainwashed to such an extent that she even broke into her father’s safe to steal money and keep plain paper in its place.
