Two boys were attacked in Mumbai’s suburbs by Islamists recently, highlighting how children aren’t safe around them. These series of distressing events, two separate incidents in Maharashtra, have shed light on the alarming trend of violence and targeting of children by Islamists.
In Mumbai’s Mira Road area, an 11-year-old boy faced a harrowing ordeal after he greeted a youth with ‘Jai Shri Ram’, assuming him to be the security guard of his building. The boy, returning home after purchasing milk, innocently uttered the greeting. This simple gesture led to a shocking chain of events, with the Muslim youth and his accomplices chasing and assaulting the minor Hindu boy. The assailants not only physically attacked him but also forced him to chant ‘Allah Hu Akbar’. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the building. The boy’s father, Sanjay Singh, filed a police complaint, resulting in an FIR against five unidentified youths.
Meanwhile, in Thane district’s Badlapur area, a nine-year-old boy named Ibad fell victim to a heinous crime committed by a tailor named Salman Maulvi. Salman, known to Ibad, kidnapped the boy, intending to extort money for building his new house. Ibad went missing after leaving a mosque in Goregaon village, prompting his family and villagers to launch a search. The family received a ransom call, adding to their anguish. The police, along with the villagers, intensified their search efforts. Despite changing his SIM card to evade capture, Salman was apprehended by the police.
They discovered Ibad’s lifeless body hidden in a sack in Salman’s backyard. An FIR has been registered, and investigations are ongoing, with suspicions that other family members may have been involved in the crime. In New Delhi, a three-year-old girl was raped by a 30-year-old man named Mohammad Sagir in the Peeragarhi Area. Her family said Sagir took her to a quiet place, where locals later found blood and alcohol bottles. The Islamist man is now on the run, and locals protested at his house, demanding his arrest.
In a similar incident in Delhi’s Bhawana area on March 24, a man reportedly raped and murdered a five-year-old girl. He then hid the body in a factory. In the current case, an Islamist man lured the girl with him, as seen in CCTV footage. A four-year-old minor Hindu girl was raped by Mohammad Appu in Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area on March 23.
