School watchman Mohd Ansari apprehended for sexually assaulting a 4-year-old Girl

School watchman Mohammad Ansari was apprehended for the sexual assault of a 4-year-old schoolgirl. The distressing incident was reported from Mumbai’s Ambujwadi, located in the Malvani area of Malad. According to the police, the appalling incident occurred on December 19, when the young girl attended school as usual. Between 9 am and 12 am, Mohammad Ansari took advantage of the situation and assaulted the girl inside a classroom on the school premises.

The child later complained of pain during urination, prompting her mother to inquire about the distress. Initially unable to articulate the incident clearly, the girl was taken to the hospital, where doctors discovered injuries to her private parts, as confirmed by a police source. Upon further questioning by her mother, the girl revealed the details of the assault. Subsequently, the family approached the police and filed a complaint, leading to a medical examination at Shatabdi Hospital, confirming the injuries.

On Wednesday (December 20), the police arrested Mohammad Ansari at his residence. The school had employed the accused for several years. He faces charges under sections 376 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The victim’s statement is slated to be recorded before the magistrate as per the provisions of 164 CrPC. Authorities are also investigating whether the accused may have targeted other children in the past, and his mobile phone has been seized for further scrutiny with the assistance of teachers and parents.
