Love Jihad in Odisha: Raju Sheikh murders Hindu girlfriend, dumps her body in river, arrested

In a shocking case of Love Jihad, a Hindu girl is murdered by her boyfriend in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Then, her boyfriend allegedly dumped the body in the river. After the primary investigation, the police arrested boyfriend Raju Sheikh and his two friends.

As per the reports, Raju Sheikh is a resident of Murshidabad district of West Bengal. A few years ago, Raju went to Bhubaneswar. He worked as a mason and used to live in the Sisupalgarh area, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

There, Raju Sheikh trapped a Hindu girl named Bhagya Dakua(19) in love. A few months ago, Bhagya eloped with Raju and started to live in a rented house in the Sisupalgarh area.

On 8th of April, Monday, a girl’s body was recovered from the Daya river bed under Dhauli Police Station. The girl was identified as Bhagya. Bhagya was resident of Hinjlicut of Ganjam district.

On being informed, a team from Dhauli police station reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Capitol Hospital for post-mortem.

After registering a case, the police launched an investigation. Within 24 hours, the police identified and detained three youths, including the main accused, Raju Sheikh.

The father of the deceased girl, Hina Dakua said, “Three months ago, a youth took my daughter along with him. After murder, he was about to dispose the body of my daughter in the Daya river. I’m happy that the police caught him.”

IC of Dhauli Police Station, Kishore Nayak said, “We recovered the woman’s body and two bikes from the crime scene. We have detained three persons who are residents of the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Our investigation is underway.”
