Hindu SC girl raped by Firdaus Khan, forced to convert to Islam: Khandwa, MP

A Hindu girl was raped and pressurized to convert to Islam by one Firdaus Khan. Both the girl and the accused are residents of Titgaon village of Khandwa district, MP. Khan had been stalking the 18-year-old girl for an year, i.e. since she was a minor.

On June 30, he met her at a handpump near her house and asked her to run away with him. He then threatened and intimidated her. On July 1, he asked her to come meet him else he would kill her family. The frightened girl met him and he took her to Khandwa station. He took her to Jabalpur to his maternal uncle’s home.

They stayed there for 4 days, and during this period he raped her. Then he started putting pressure on her to convert to Islam. After this, he took her to Bhopal railway station and they stayed for 4 days in and around the station. From there, he took her to Burhanpur, then Nepanagar, and finally to Adarsh Nagar area of Khandwa city.

On Wednesday night, Firdaus and the girl were traced and Moghat Police arrested him and recovered the girl. As per Moghat police station-in-charge Ishwar Singh Chauhan, Khan has been charged under IPC 376 (2) (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation), SC/ST Act and MP Freedom of Religion Act. Hindu Jagran Manch members also reached the police station to assist the girl.
