Gurugram, Haryana: Hindu man abducted, looted, forced to say “Allahu Akbar!”

In a disturbing incident in Gurugram, Haryana, Adarsh Trivedi, a Hindu man, was subjected to a horrifying ordeal while on his way to celebrate Holi with his family in Auraiya. Boarding a cab from Iffco Chowk to Anand Vihar at 5 AM, Trivedi found himself in a nightmare scenario when the cab driver deviated from the intended route after he objected. The situation escalated as Trivedi was assaulted by four Islamist youths, robbed of ₹8,700, and forced to utter Allahu Akbar. After keeping him captive for five hours, the Islamist perpetrators left him near Kheda Jhanjeri and fled in a car. Upon the victim’s complaint, the Sector 17/18 police station registered a case.

Based on the reports from Jagran, Adarsh Trivedi, a resident of Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh, primarily resides in Sector 18 and works for a private company. On March 23rd, he set out to return home for Holi celebrations. Arriving at Iffco Chowk around five in the morning, a cab pulled up with a driver and four other passengers already inside. Upon knowing that the cab was headed to Anand Vihar, Adarsh decided to board it.

After boarding, he was tied up by the Islamist perpetrators with a rope and placed between the seats. The driver veered towards Delhi and made a U-turn, prompting Adarsh to object. In response, the other passengers subjected him to physical assault, demanding money. They forcefully extracted ₹8,700 in cash from him, coerced him into transferring an additional ₹50,000 online, and forced him to chant Allahu Akbar.

The Islamist perpetrators resorted to further brutality, tying up Trivedi and extracting ₹37,000 from his bank account using his QR code. They also demanded an additional ₹50,000 from his family for his safe return, leaving them deeply distressed. Stripped of his possessions, including his mobile phone and clothing, Trivedi was abandoned at an isolated location by his captors at 10:30 AM.

Adarsh recounted in the FIR that during his captivity in the cab, the Islamist assailants assaulted him and repeatedly forced him to chant “Allahu Akbar.” They also looted his belongings, including chargers, earphones, clothing, and an ATM card. Eventually, around 10:30 AM, the Islamist assailants abandoned Adarsh near Kheda Jhanjeri and fled. Upon his return, Adarsh filed a complaint with the Sector 17/18 police station. An FIR was registered on Wednesday night, and investigations are underway, including a review of CCTV footage near Iffco Chowk to identify the perpetrators. Arrests are expected to be made soon.

The harrowing incident has prompted a police investigation as Trivedi’s family seeks justice for the trauma he endured. The incident underscores the need for heightened vigilance and security measures to safeguard individuals from such appalling acts of violence and extortion. A similar case happened in Hyderabad, where a boy was forced to chant Allahu Akbar; this clearly shows the Islamist religious extremist ideology targeting Hindu Dharma.
