In Khair town of Aligarh district, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim woman Fatima aka Asha got married in a Hindu family around 5 years back and is alleged to have gradually converted the whole family. Neighbors claim that the woman is now pressurizing them too to convert to Islam. When they resist she threatens to cut them up and has even assaulted another woman. Maulvis and unscrupulous elements frequent the house, and they have made life miserable for the whole neighborhood, say the neighbours.
The agitated neighbors have reported this to the police.
Locals stated that Sagar Sharma, a young man of Mohalla Gautaman in Khair town got married with a Muslim girl 5 years ago. It has been alleged that this girl became Asha Sharma to please Sagar’s family, but after some time she showed her true colors. She gradually got the whole family converted to Islam and recently also got one of her sons circumcised, they allege.
Upon getting this news, few neighbors and local Hindu activists reached Sagar Sharma’s house for a discussion. Fatima alias Asha started a heated argument with the people and started threatening to slap fake cases on them after tearing her clothes.
Police was informed about this and Chief Inspector Brijesh Kumar and local SHO Ravindra Kumar reached the spot. They listened to both the sides and tried to pacify the situation.
A neighbor Radha Sharma told that every day mullahs and maulavis come to their house, who exhort the Hindus in the locality to convert to Islam and taunt them. They try to mislead the neighbors, asking them to stop Hindu worship and follow the teaching of Mohammad. Sagar’s family has converted to Islam, they go to mosques to offer Namaz and bring meat and cook it at home and throw the bones outside the courtyard, to harass their Hindu neighbours.
Radha also stated that neighbors have had heated altercations with Sagar’s family and Fatima over the issue of religious conversion. Neighbors have already filed a complaint against the accused family and demanded strict action. They have also requested the police to stop the movement of mullah-maulvi and other anti-social elements into their locality.
The Kotwali Police in Khair, Aligarh has lodged an FIR and initiated an investigation into this matter.
