Yet another Hindu mandir has been desecrated by Khalistanis operating freely in Canada. This time the Ram Mandir in Mississauga, Ontario province was vandalized with anti-Bharat and pro-Khalistan graffiti.
In a press release, VHP Canada has denounced this hateful act, which comes on the heels of similar hateful graffiti defacement at the Gauri Shankar Mandir in Brampton, Ontario (in January 2023) and at the BAPS Mandir in Toronto, Ontario (in September 2022). VHP said it stands in solidarity with the Ram Mandir management, devotees who visit Ram Mandir and the entire Hindu community of Canada.
Other Hindu groups have also condemned this latest anti-Hindu hate crime.
“This attack is a cause of concern for Canadian Hindus & should be condemned by all. The series of hateful crimes at Ram Mandir, Gauri Shankar Mandir and BAPS Temple within a span of five months come in the backdrop of close to a dozen Hindu temple break-ins and attacks in GTA (Greater Toronto Area) during 2022. Hindu community across the globe is a peace loving, progressive and inclusive community which believes in the values of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (meaning the world is one family). Such hate crimes by divisive anti social extremist groups against the Hindu community threaten to disrupt peace within the peaceful Canadian society”, the VHP statement added.
VHP has demanded strict actions against the perpetrators of this attack from local police authorities and the Ontario government. They also request Governments, Politicians and Human rights groups to unite in building awareness against growing Hinduphobia in Canada which is the first step towards building concrete laws to tackle it.
The desecration of the Ram Mandir was a shameful act and no genuine Sikh supports it. It is very unfortunate that these Khalistan supporters, who have absolutely no understanding of Sikhism, have been able to carry out these incidents. The Canadian authorities need to act fast against these miscreants and put a stop to such activities.
