In Bidar, Karnataka, a disturbing incident unfolded as an Islamist group harassed a Muslim girl for her association with a Hindu boy in a local park. The group’s actions escalated as they physically assaulted the Hindu boy, expressing their disapproval of the interfaith relationship. In a deeply troubling turn, the perpetrators targeted the Muslim girl, accusing her of defaming their community by her association with a Hindu individual. The Hindu boy was subjected to physical assault, while the Muslim girl faced verbal abuse and was accused of defaming their community.
According to the reports from Sanatan Prabhat, the incident occurred two weeks ago at a park on the outskirts of Basavakalyan town. The victim, identified as Ashok Reddy, a 45-year-old auto driver from Basavakalyan, was accompanying the Muslim woman when the assault took place. The incident gained attention after circulating widely on social media platforms, prompting public outrage and calls for justice.
Law enforcement authorities took swift action in response to the incident, registering a case against five individuals aged between 20 and 28. The accused have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including assault, criminal force against a woman, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation. Police Inspector Ambarish Vagmode has confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure accountability for their actions.
Three Islamist individuals, identified as Syed Bilal, Tausif Ayub Chavus, and Syed Ibrahim, have been taken into custody by authorities, while efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects, Qadeer Qureshi and Magdoom. The disturbing video, which emerged today, captures an incident dating back to April 17, shedding light on the heinous crime perpetrated against the auto driver.
District Police Superintendent Channabasavanna S.L. revealed, “The incident occurred on April 17, but the video surfaced on social media platforms on Sunday (May 12) and also appeared in some media outlets. Three suspects have already been arrested and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining two.”
Hindu auto driver’s duty turns deadly: victim’s perception of a fateful encounter
According to police sources and local news channel Kannada Prabha, Ashoka Reddy Panduranga Reddy Pichare was the driver of the passenger auto. On April 17, while he was transporting passengers from Basavakalyan to Kaudiala village, Hazratbi Hannumiya from his hometown also boarded the auto. Later, he stopped near the Thikkamma Garden, where Hazratbee mentioned to the auto driver that she would return later. Subsequently, around 1 pm, when the auto driver returned, five Muslim youths intercepted him. They allegedly assaulted him indiscriminately, verbally abused him, and threatened him with his life, warning him against associating with Muslim women in the future.
Recurring tragedies: Islamists hypocrisy
On January 8, 2024, a similar incident occurred in the town of Haveri in the state. A Hindu youth and a Muslim girl were staying at a private hotel in the Hanagal taluk of Haveri district. Upon learning of this, some Muslim youths immediately abducted the girl then subjected her to physical assault, rape and communal violence.
In Karnataka, Dalit Hindu youth Srinivas (26) faced the tragic consequences of loving a Muslim girl. He was brutally killed, subjected to a mob lynching by 18-20 Muslims. They mercilessly beat him until late into the night until his life ebbed away. His lifeless body was callously dumped outside the city.
These are just a few incidents that highlight the extremist ideologies and hypocrisy of certain Islamist groups, particularly targeting Hindus in Karnataka. Allegedly, under the Congress-led government, crimes against Hindus are purportedly on the rise, exacerbating communal tensions. Islamist groups frequently employ violence against Hindu boys found with Muslim girls. Conversely, they engage in relentless coercion and conversion attempts targeting Hindu girls, i.e., Love Jihad, leading to their alleged manipulation into relationships with Muslim men. This pattern of behavior poses significant challenges for Hindu communities. Hindus find themselves continuously targeted, fueling growing concerns about safety and security.
