Attacks on Hindu temples in Muslim-majority Bangladesh never cease. Now, reports have been coming in from the Faridpur district of Bangladesh, where three Hindu temples came under attack in one night.
As per the reports, on the night of 15th December, three Hindu temples of Alfadanga Upazila of Faridpur district came under attack. Several Murtis, including the Murti of Ma Durga, Bhagwan Shiva, Ma Saraswati and several other Murtis, are vandalised. The following day, locals got furious seeing the Murtis vandalised.
The Hindu temples attacked are Sri Sri Damodar Akhra Durga Mandir, Sri Vishnu Pagla Ashram and Sri Sri Hari Mandir.
President of Faridpur district Puja Udjapan Parishad, Yashoda Jibon Debnath, said, “We are stunned to see the Murtis vandalised. This type of incident never happened here. We contacted the administration and the Police and told them to initiate legal action. Also, we demand immediate arrest of the accused.”
