Did the ‘Indian Manager’ really deny entry to a Hijab-clad woman in Bahrain, or was it anti-Hindu propaganda?

The recent controversy of a hijab-clad woman being denied entry into an Indian restaurant in Bahrain is an apt example of how spreading lies in the name of news has become a norm these days. We witness a lot of doctored news, videos, and even opinionated articles, that are written to twist the facts, and sometimes communal colours are given to defame a specific nation or a community.

The incident is reported to have taken place in an Indian restaurant named “Lanterns” in Bahrain. It was said that an ‘Indian’ Manager denied entry to a female because was wearing a Hijab. As per reports, the said restaurant has been closed post this controversy.

Left-leaning media houses such as The Quint, Janta Ka Reporter, The Wire, Scroll, and several other leftist social media influencers were crying foul that a ‘Hindu’ restaurant denied entry to a female, who was wearing a hijab. In their hurry to bring in the ‘evil fascist Hindu’ angle, these people didn’t even care to cross-check with the ‘victim’ and validate the truth. But, that is how the so-called Leftist-Secular ecosystem operates driven by its deep Hindu hatred.

The incident immediately drew the attention of Left-Liberal social media influencers who went to town propagating the lie that the manager is a Hindu, who hails from Karnataka in a bid to somehow connect it with the ongoing hijab row in Karnataka. The cabal accused the so-called Indian Manager and blamed the alleged assault on their favourite punchbag i.e. the ‘Hindu right wing’ back in Bharat for this unfortunate incident.

Leading the false propaganda was Ismat Ara, an alleged journalist who writes for HuffPost, The Quint, The Wire, BBC, and News Laundry tweeted that an Indian man from Karnataka opposed the entry of a woman wearing a Hijab in Bahrain.

Numerous leftist and anti-Bharat verified Twitter accounts, led by known Hindu hater Ashok Swain, followed the cue and started spreading this news without cross-checking the matter.

Then several others jumped in to give the entire incident a communal and anti-Bharat colour to suit their nefarious narrative.

However, it seems this fake propaganda was orchestrated to malign the image of Bharat and create an anti-Bharat environment in the Middle-East countries. The fact is that the Manager was a British national and not an Indian citizen and certainly not a Hindu from Karnataka. No, we are not making this claim, the victim Mariam Naji herself has come out and debunked the lies around this incident.

Mariam even replied to numerous tweets that went viral after the news reports came out. She clearly denied the wrong facts being spread and said that it was a British manager who denied her entry into the restaurant as she was wearing a hijab. But as is their wont, the ‘influencers’ instead of apologizing and correcting themselves were blocking those questioning them.

After Effects of this Incident

The duty manager has been suspended, while the restaurant has been closed by the local authorities. The restaurant has put out an apology statement on its Instagram handle expressing regret for the incident.

The statement posted on Instagram read “Everyone is welcome to Lanterns as how it has been for more than 35 years that we have been serving all nationalities in the beautiful kingdom of Bahrain. Lanterns is a place for everyone to come enjoy with their families and feel at home. In this instance, a mistake has been made by a manager who is now being suspended as this does not represent who we are. As a goodwill gesture, we welcome all our Bahraini patrons to Lanterns on Tuesday 29th of March to have complimentary food on us”.

This is indeed a terrible trend of intentionally blaming everything under the sun on Bharat and Hindus by the left-liberal and secular cabal. We have seen how social media influencers and a certain section of media houses never leave any opportunity to bring in a Hindu-Muslim angle and paint Bharat as an intolerant country and Hindus as an intolerant group of people.

They make a huge hue and cry in the name of Islamophobia but in reality, they are spreading Hinduphobia using information warfare tactics. We have seen numerous instances where Bharatiya professionals were jailed or fired from their jobs for allegedly putting up anti-Islamic posts.

It must be mentioned that in most of these cases Hindus residing in Muslim countries are trapped using fake accounts and the like. Such trends are extremely disturbing and the government must bring in necessary amendments to existing laws so as to make spreading fake news a punishable crime.
