Hundreds of boys and girls from West Bengal are going every day to neighbouring state Assam to watch the banned movie ‘The Kerala Story’.
It has been seen that boys and girls from Alipurduar and Coochbedistrictsrict of West Bengal are going to Assam to watch the movie. As Alipurduar and Coochbehar districts of West Bengal share borders with the state of Assam and well connectivity is available, it’s easy to go to Assam and watch the movie.
Besides, recently former BJP MP of Alipurduar, Dasharath Tirkey arranged a bus to Assam to watch the movie. On 14th of May, more than hundred of boys and girls from tea garden area of Kumargram went to Assam to watch the movie.
Soon after its release, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced to ban of the movie ‘The Kerala Story’ in the state, citing that it may deteriorate the law and order situation in the state. Although the movie’s producer sent a legal notice, the film is not available at the cinema halls in the state.
