Lady activist’s clothes torn & her colleagues assaulted by SP’s goons including ex-corporator’s husband Fahad Azmi: Mumbai

A lady activist accused Samajwadi Party’s former corporator Shaera Azmi’s husband Fahad Azmi and other party goons of assaulting her and her colleagues. The activist said they had visited the corporator’s office to complain about overflowing gutters in the area and ask for them to be cleaned when the attack took place. She and her colleagues lodged a police complaint against the Samajwadi party (SP) goons.

“We had come to complain about the gutters in Rafique Nagar 3 & 4 which are overflowing because of the accumulated garbage. We wanted the gutters cleaned. However, Samajwadi goons, including Fahad Azmi who uses his wife’s position and earns money, tore my clothes and assaulted us. We will not let the matter pass.”, she is heard saying in a video that is in circulation on social media (SM).

Another person accompanying the activist said that they would approach the police. He also showed how one of their group members was bleeding after being assaulted. Injury marks were seen on several of the people. The group also raised slogans against the party hooligans.

Twitter users have shared videos showing the highhandedness of SP goons. Local news reports say Azmi has denied all allegations and said that there was a fight between members of the group and locals. The ex-corporator and her husband have filed a counter-complaint against the activist and her group members. Some reports state the activists belong to Krantikari Kamgar Party. The case is currently being investigated by the Shivajinagar police.
