Hindu family attacked & told to leave Muslim-dominated village: Palwal, Haryana

A Hindu family in the Muslim-majority village of Palwal was reportedly attacked and told to leave the village for sharing a Facebook post supporting the denial of citizenship to the illegal Rohingya migrants.

Sachin Kumar, Mundkati police station in-charge, said Deepak, a resident of Sarai village, had lodged a complaint that on August 15, Dilshad, Irshad and Zaheer, residents of the village, along with others, and armed with sticks and country-made pistols, entered his house and started vandalising it. They threatened to kill the family if they did not leave the village.

Police has already filed a case against Zaheer, Dilshad, and Irshad regarding the incident. Ongoing efforts are underway to arrest the accused.

The victim family has mentioned in their complaint that they are living in a Muslim dominated neighborhood, and they have been facing repeated attacks. The family has been subjected to such targeted attacks in past as well.

They have tried to resolve the disputes many a times, but all efforts gone in vain. The accused Muslims have only increased their aggression against them, and such assaults have inflicted both physical and psychological distress on the complainant’s family.
