When Kanhaiyalal and his family were desperately seeking protection from the secular state after their Muslim neighbours unleashed a torrent of death threats and abuses for a mere social media post in support of Nupur Sharma, herself a target of rape and death threats from fanatics unleashed by Md. Zubair, most Hindus across the country were unaware and least bothered.
Despite having seen the bloodthirsty ‘sar tan se juda’ rallies across Bharat, and Bollywood celebs like Farhan Akhtar and Richa Chadha subtly instigating the mobs to do more by branding Nupur’s apology as ‘inauthentic’, Hindus were happily going about their daily lives in typical ‘mujhe kya?’ (what’s it to me?) fashion.
While the ordinary Hindu caught up in the grind of eking out a daily living can be excused, it is our elites and metro-dwelling Anglicized class – those who control information flow and form the public narrative – that are largely responsible for the pathetic situation we find ourselves in today.
But one glimmer of hope is that due to democratization of discourse thanks to social media, ordinary Hindus are now waking up to the massive fraud perpetrated on them by HINO (Hindu in Name Only) elites. In one such video which is going viral, a youth forcefully makes the point on who all contributed to Kanhaiyalal’s murder –
The youth says:
“Stop saying that (ony) Md. Riyaz and Mohammed (Gaus) killed Kanhaiyalal. This is a lie. Kanhaiyalal was killed by lakhs of people who supported Mohammed Zubair. He was killed by the younger generation which labels ‘Jai Sri Ram’ as a terrorist slogan….despite being Hindu!
“Kanhaiyalal was killed by those woke youth, those useless Hindus who say that Muslims studying in class will get offended and unfriend them if they change their (social media) status (in support of any Hindu cause). Those Bollywood celebrities killed Kanhaiya who share and promote stories by propagandists like The Wire, Quint, Newslaundry, Faye D’Souza. Those political parties killed Kanhaiya who do appeasement.
“Today, many are saying that this time even Rahul Gandhi, Owaisi, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind have condemned what has happened. They are only doing this because this time the accused have openly disclosed their identities and motivation. So they have no way of defending this (Kanhaiyalal’s murder). Because what happened to Kanhaiya has happened to Kishan Bharwad, Rinku Sharma too – just that their murder videos, their murderers didn’t accept those crimes openly..that’s why those cases are not being discussed. Otherwise, this has been going on for long.”
How deep the rot is among Indian elites, where HINOs rule the roost, can be gauged from the fact that even some young Muslims who dare to stand up against Islamists are targeted by these so-called ‘liberal’ Hindus.
