AP: Holy Trinity ‘Daiva Mandir’ has tiles with Hindu symbols on the path leading to church

In an undated video that has surfaced from Andhra Pradesh, a peculiar sight has sparked controversy. The pathway leading to the Holy Trinity Daiva Mandiram at Chemidthi Village, Gudur Mandal, Nellore, a church reportedly managed by one Smt. Dr. Srilakshmi features tiles bearing the sacred Hindu symbols of Om and Swastika.

Ironically, it is always the Hindu name bearing individual who is in charge of such an institution. And it is at such places where Hindu symbols, deities, etc are derogated.

The video has ignited debates over whether the presence of these symbols was intentional or due to ignorance. While some speculate that it might have been a deliberate act, others argue it could be a result of a lack of basic knowledge or oversight. The controversy has drawn attention from various quarters, with legal activist Legal Rights Protection Forum asking Andhra Pradesh Police to investigate the matter.

The presence of these symbols at the entrance of a church has raised eyebrows. It’s noteworthy that Islamic invaders in the past were known for demolishing temples and desecrating idols, often burying them at the entrance of their masjids.

Derogating Hindu symbols, deities, and Hindu Dharma itself is a proven tactic for missionaries. One such example was seen when a youth was found selling a distorted version of the Bhagavad Gita somewhere in Andhra Pradesh, a state that is a hotbed of conversion.

We all know of the rampant conversion across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Every now and then we become aware of the state of Hindu Dharma and the Hindu Samaj in the Telugu-speaking land.

  1. This is not ethically correct, no religion has any right to disrespect any other religion. This is how communal tensions and conflicts arise. Being a Christian I condemn this 100%. The people who constructed the flooring must be held accountable and punished.
