Devi Kali is held in high regard by Hindus and worshipped as Mata or mother. Amazon has hosted a book by American author El T Fullah that degrades Kali Mata and despite the issue being raised the platform continues to support Fullah by refusing to take down the book.
The book is a collection of short stories authored by New Yorker Fullah. The reviews suggest it is a collection of horror stories. “Thought-provoking, captivating, and engaging, author EL.T. Fullah’s Kali Ma: A Collection of Short Stories is a must-read short story collection for horror fans and literary readers alike”, says Pacific Book Review.
According to Hollywood Book Reviews, the book is ‘a unique and powerful anthology sure to leave a lasting impression on readers’. The review says, “Each story is darker and more twisted than the last…The author’s use of horror as a tool for social commentary is both effective and thought-provoking”.
In essence, they are using a Hindu deity’s image on the cover to sell their horror stories. Depicting Devi Maa with a noose and using Her name as a title for dark horror stories are Hinduphobic and totally unacceptable. The audacity of Amazon to continue hosting the book stems from the fact that a large section of Hindus are ignorant or indifferent.
However, the issue was raised on social media in May by Advocate Ashutosh Dubey. In his tweet, he called for boycotting Amazon and also tagged Amazon India to let them know that their shameful act was not acceptable.

Four months have passed and Amazon has not even acknowledged let alone taking down the book. This kind of arrogance is reserved for ‘tolerant’ Hindus.
Would Amazon dare to host books that depict Abrahamic gods in a similar derogatory manner? Hindus need to make it clear that equating Kali Maa with ‘horror’ and depicting Her in a sacrilegious manner is no longer acceptable. It is high time to initiate both legal and social action against Amazon for its support of racist authors like Fullah. Amazon needs to be held accountable for its Hinnduphobia.
This is a clear message. Kali Ma is the destroyer of demons, and the book is full of horror, the work of demons. Hollywood sending a clear message of who they serve on all levels throughout all belief systems. This is why in many movies you see Christ hanging on the cross everywhere as well. A message of their success to kill God. Well Christs purpose was to resurrect, so he had to die. But imagine, a mere human attempting to string up Kali Ma. No, it won’t be done. She will kill the demons inside of them. Just know that they all serve demons, including Amazon, and the Truth remains regardless of their mockeries. Don’t buy their movies or books. Stop feeding the beast that desires to destroy us all.
Wtf
This is really an extreme shameful act done by the fucking author. We hindu people worship and love our god’s so much.
However, others create mockery and display it in different aweful and explicit ways.
Moreover, a canadian director posted her movie poster presenting divine kali smoking. Which really hurts the respective religious people. If they have to do this, then they can substitute our beautiful gods with their one…
So that they can feel the heart break too
They should have changed the cover and title..but because they also have replaced their shit with money….
I literally oppose n want this to be removed…
I support Amazon but I don’t like this shameful act of yours. We Hindus love our God very much. you have to delete it.😠😠
I am boycotting the Amazon platform for providing such types of highly objectionable book on HINDU godess. Mr. Fullah should write the books on his god’s. I will never purchase any thing from Amazon.
Who is this Fullah? Maybe he should put his own religion’s founders hanging by the noose…as they have caused untold death and destruction
My quesry to the dear author:
Is Ma Kali’s image on the front cover of your book essential to promote horror stories?
The Hindus worship Ma Kali as the Goddess of Power not a deity representing horrors. So in that sense Ma Kali’s image on the front cover of the book is not befitting the stories the book upholds.
