How various attempts were made to muzzle ‘Kashmir Files’

Director Vivek Agnihotri’s latest offering The Kashmir Files has been facing stiff opposition from various quarters with an attempt even being made to stall its release including the filing of a PIL in Mumbai High Court. The Islamo-Leftist-fascist ecosystem has not yet given up on its efforts at muzzling Agnihotri’s freedom of expression and it is trying every trick in its book to muzzle The Kashmir Files.

Trust the Hindumisic OTT platform Netflix to censor anything that depicts the true face of Islamic terrorism but the platform took it too far this time by wanting the director to refrain from using the term ‘Islamic terrorism’ or use ‘Hindu terrorism’ in the dialogues. Vivek made this revelation in his interview with OpIndia’s Rahul Roshan.

“The head of one-of-the most talked about OTT companies was keen on buying the film…However, Vivek was taken aback when the executive asked him openly whether any specific adjective was used for terrorism…the executive asserted, we have a global policy that we do not use the term Islamic terrorism in any of our films…Though Vivek Agnihotri didn’t directly name the OTT platform, he hinted that its head directly admitted about the platform not doing well in Indian markets. Incidentally, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had recently confessed in public about the slow growth of the video streaming company in the Indian market “, noted OpIndia.

This wasn’t the first time that objections were raised to the term Islamic terrorism. Although Censor Board passed ‘The Kashmir Files’ with an ‘A’ certificate and minor cuts even it had wanted the director to get rid of the term but Vivek refused to do so. The director revealed in his interview to Bollywood Hungama that the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) examining committee had a long list of cuts that Vivek had to fight out. It was only when Vivek backed the facts depicted in his movie with proofs and documents that the CBFC allowed the movie to be released without the cuts.

Another attempt to sabotage The Kashmir Files was production and distribution house Zee Studios’ lack of efforts to promote the movie. Social media users raised questions about the relatively low media and outdoor publicity. “Ahead of the release of the film, several netizens had taken to social media to express concerns that while mainstream media has dismissed the film because it talks about the Islamic terrorism in the Kashmir region and the brutal exodus of Kashmiri Hindus, the producers of the film also do not appear too keen to put money into the marketing of the film so that it reaches a broader audience”, highlighted OpIndia.

As highlighted earlier a PIL was filed in the Mumbai High Court in an attempt to ensure that the release of The Kashmir Files is stalled. The PIL was filed by one Intezar Hussain Sayed, who is a UP resident, alleging that the sentiments of the Muslim community were hurt by the movie’s trailer and ‘inflammatory scenes’ in the film would lead to communal violence.

Members of the Shia community also had issues with The Kashmir Files as they believed that the movie had the potential to spoil Bharat’s relationship with Iran as it depicts the Shia religious leader Ayatullah Khamenei in ‘poor light’ by connecting him with terrorism.

The movie also came under attack from film critic Anupama Chopra. Director Vivek Agnihotri alleged that Chopra was trying to ‘sabotage’ the film. He also said she was targeting his film by playing dirty tricks in the background. According to Vivek Agnihotri Film Companion, Anupama Chopra’s show has not reviewed or tweeted the trailer of his upcoming movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ even though the same show went on to promote a flop movie like Deepika Padukone-starrer movie Gehraiyaan that was produced by Karan Johar. Agnihotri further pointed out that the show has tried to carry out negative propaganda against his film by referring to his last movie, ‘The Tashkent Files’.

There are also allegations of Kapil Sharma refusing to promote the film and not inviting the cast of the film for the same. Hindustan Times report on the matter said “A fan tagged Vivek in a tweet, saying that they would love to watch the cast and crew promote the film on The Kapil Sharma Show. Vivek replied saying they refused to call on their show because we don’t have a big commercial star…in another tweet, he added even I am a fan. But it’s a fact that they refused to call us on their show because there is no big star. In Bollywood non-starter Directors, writers and Good actors are considered as NOBODIES”.

While the left-liberal cabal is attempting to silence Vivek Agnihotri and get the film banned by hook or crook, the same lot doesn’t bat an eyelid before promoting propaganda movies like Parzania that whitewash Islamic terrorism by projecting a woefully one-sided and distorted version of the events.

  1. Wikipedia has since years defamed the articles on Vivek Agnihotri and all his previous films.

All positive reception was censored, and the article was filled with anti-Hindu drivel from third rate journalists.

Be prepared that Wikipedia will defame the article on this film as well !

On wikipedia, there is a relentless defamation attack on Vivek Agnihotri and other Hindu intellectuals by wikipedia troll Aruneek Biswas and his sockpuppet accounts (“Winged Blades of Godric”, “TrangaBellam” and the blocked “Walrus Ji”).
