Hindu Activist Sreeraj Kaimal arrested for sharing a social media post in Kerala

Kerala government arrested Sreeraj Kaimal, State Organising Secretary of Hindu Seva Kendram. According to the police, the case is based on Sreeraj sharing a picture on social media and saying he wanted to meet the artist in person. He was remanded for 14 days.

Section 153A (“promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) has been charged against Sreeraj. Sreeraj is a prominent Hindu Aikya Vedi leader.

A 12-member police team arrived at Sreeraj’s house near Kuttanad Edathua, Alappuzha District, at three o’clock in the morning and arrested him. They told his father and wife, who were at home that they would report to Edathua Police Station (within walkable distance) and take him to Ambalapuzha Police Station (14 km away and on Highway 66).

Hindu Seva Kendra volunteers who reached the Ambalapuzha police station were told that Ambalapuzha police never heard of such an incident, but the local police asked for 10 minutes. It was then informed that the arrest was made by the Cherpulassery police on the instructions of the Intelligence ADGP.

Sreeraj was at the forefront of protesting against the communist government when they used Kerala police to carry left-leaning women activists from Abrahamic families to Sabarimala in 2018.

Later, A. Hemachandran, a former DGP and a member of the high-level monitoring committee appointed by the Kerala HC to look into the Sabarimala entry issue, accused the Kerala government of supporting moves to break the age-old traditions at the temple. The DGP also mentioned that the government portrayed Ayyappa devotees as religious fundamentalists in a report submitted to the HC. He added that the government provided VIP treatment to those women who wanted to go to the temple and break the traditions.

Sreeraj burnt the ISIS flag in front of the Kerala Secretariat when ISIS started taking root in Kerala. This came after terror modules hoisted the ISIS flag in CH Mohd Koya Memorial College, Kerala. Any act of terrorism will be questioned and defeated, promised Sreeraj.

Most of Sreeraj’s Facebook posts are appeals for help to poor Hindu families. Sreeraj disrespected the Chief Minister’s order and took on anti-Hindu forces.

Sreeraj is close to Pratheesh Viswanath. Pratheesh founded the Hindu Seva Kendra. He is also working on several of Kerala’s most talked about cases. Is the government’s aim to coerce Pratheesh to withdraw from the cases?

Sreeraj’s detention has not gone down well with Hindu Activists. Pratheesh, (also the Founder – of Kerala Hindu Help Line), opined that Sreeraj’s captivity as an abduction of an individual without proper legal procedure, solely for expressing opinions on social media posts, is a blatant abuse of power and a mockery of democracy. The lack of transparency and accountability displayed by the police, who failed even to inform Sreeraj’s family of his whereabouts, is deeply concerning and indicative of a system rife with corruption and disregard for fundamental civil liberties.

Furthermore, the apparent pattern of hunting Hindu organization workers before the imminent arrest of CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena Vijayan, is deeply troubling and must be thoroughly investigated. No individual should be persecuted or intimidated for their religious beliefs, concluded Pratheesh.

The police surrounded the house and caught someone who would have appeared if asked to reach the police station. But the local police do not even know the whereabouts of heinous terrorists hiding in Kerala that NIA is arresting.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorist Bhimantevida Jafar from Kannur and said that he was a terrorist trainer. Jafar was in hiding for a long time. Jafar is also accused in many murder cases.

Jafar is allegedly involved in the Palakkad Srinivasan murder case. Srinivasan was a former RSS Palakkad district Sharirik Shikshan Pramukh and a former RSS Palakkad district Sharirik Shikshan Pramukh. He was hacked to death in April 2022. Jafar is the 59th accused in the case.

Jafar is also accused of conspiring to bring Islamic rule to Bharat in 2047. The NIA stated that Jafar was in contact with extremist organizations in this regard.

Another Islamist terrorist, Sawad, was arrested in Kannur recently. Last year, HinduPost reported that an NIA court sentenced six terrorists of the banned organization PFI in the case of Thodupuzha Newman College, Prof. TJ Joseph’s brutal hand-chopping incident of 2010. Sawad was directly involved in a professor’s hand amputation case.

It is indicated that the information about Jafar was obtained after questioning Sawad. Sawad, too, was nabbed by the NIA. He, too, was living in hiding at Kannur.

NIA arrested the most violent militants of the PFI from Kannur, where the ruling CPM has total control and claims nothing moves without their knowledge.
