Since Richa Bharti Won’t Distribute Qurans, Let us All Do It

Hindu Post readers have probably already heard about the Richa Bharti case.  Richa is a 19-year-old girl from Ranchi. In response to the recent video made by a group of popular TikTok users justifying terrorism in response to the death of Tabrez Ansari, Richa asked a simple question that I have myself had many times.

“Why do only Muslims think of terrorism in response to any grievance (whether or not that grievance is justified is a different debate)?”

After all, 400,000 Kashmiri Hindus were driven out from their ancestral home in 1989.  Have you heard of a single Kashmiri Hindu terrorist? W. Bengal has been over-run by Muslim infiltrators from Bangladesh.  Have you heard of a Bengali Hindu terrorist? Tibet was brutally occupied by China, and an estimated 1 million Tibetans were killed. Have you heard of a Tibetan Buddhist terrorist? Hindus have been exterminated from Pakistan: what was once a 22% strong community is today almost extinct. Have you heard of a Pakistani Hindu terrorist?

Then why do only Muslims respond to any grievance by bombing others?  That is the question Richa Bharti asked. This was so offensive to some Muslims that they complained to the police, and within 3 hours, Richa was arrested. This is the same police that takes days to track down any Muslim offender.

But the worst was yet to come. The judge (a Hindu, at least in name) offered Richa bail, but on the condition she distribute 5 copies of the Quran.

Richa Bharti and Judge Manish Kumar Singh

This is a country where Muslim members of parliament & legislative assemblies (Owaisi, Pathan, Jaleel) refuse to say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ or ‘Vande Mataram’. This is a country whose Muslim ex-Vice President refused to touch the prayer thali of a Ram Lila (and possibly spies for a fellow Muslim country Iran, but let’s not go there in this post).

But a young girl, only 19 years of age, is punished by being forced to distribute Qurans? A book which according to fundamentalist Muslims is the literal word of God and says that non-believers are hell-bound who deserve to be killed if they refuse to convert to Islam?  Richa is no average girl: she is one heck of a confident Hindu. She flat out refused!

Her response was classic “today they are asking to distribute Quran, tomorrow they will ask me to do Namaz or Convert to Islam.”

Well, some creative critics of this ‘judgement’ have come up with a distribute Quranic verses movement.  You see, we will do what the judge wants: we will “spread the message” contained in the Quran.  Let me start by distributing arguably the most important single verse in the Quran.

English translation of Quran verse 9:5“And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

Some more verses which each & every Hindu would do well to be aware of are as below:

“Surely those who disbelieve from among the People of the Book and from among the polytheists– will be in the fire of Hell a seed of which unbelief bears, abiding therein. They are the worst of creatures.” ~Quran 98.6

“Those who (knowingly) conceal and reject Our Revelations, We will land them in a Fire to roast there. Every time their skins are burnt off, We will replace them with other skins, that they may taste the punishment.”~ Quran 4.56

“And do not marry the idolatresses until they believe, and certainly a believing maid is better than an idolatress woman, even though she should please you” ~Quran 2.221

Now judge-saab, please let Richa Bharti go. And also, if you want to distribute Quran, you can join #DistributeQuran. In any case, #IStandWithRichaBharti.

Latest: After a fierce backlash on social media & across the country and facing an unprecedented boycott of his chambers by the Ranchi Bar Association, Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Manish Kumar Singh on Wednesday modified his earlier order directing Richa to distribute Quran as a pre-condition for bail, and allowed her regular bail. However, Richa was still required to furnish a bail bond of Rs 7000 and two sureties of like amount each.

The brave girl is still maintaining her innocence and said that she will consult her family and lawyer about moving High Court.
