Hindu devotees who visited Sabarimala were surprised to see Kerala police vehicles sporting Islamic symbols parked near the river Pamba. Worshippers of Bhagwan Ayyappa found it hard to believe that these police personnel had come to the temple to protect Hindus. They uploaded videos, that became viral immediately, of the same on social media. Local media, as usual, shunned the grave security lapses.
Kerala state police chief, DGP Anil Kant, directed his officers to remove religious symbols on police vehicles. The state police chief has also directed action against those who posted the sticker. The vehicles had arrived carrying Kerala Armed Police (KAP) personnel.
Religious, political, and communal writings or signs may not be displayed on police vehicles, as per existing laws. The use of Islamic symbols, usually seen on Taliban vehicles, has tarnished the image of the Kerala police. Kant immediately directed his officers to remove such stickers and asked for a report.
The police vehicle with a dozen crescent moons and the stars was seen near Pampa, where vehicles are parked. Kant said that officers should take care not to repeat such incidents. Unit heads should take note of this. He also warned that the driver in charge of the vehicle and the authorized officer would be equally responsible if such incidents recur.
The rapid Talibanisation of Kerala police is happening at a frightening pace. Not a single day passes without an incident of such sort does not happen. Human trafficking and the sale of women from Kerala to radical Islamists in ISIS are happening, and the police are busy concealing such issues.
Kerala police personnel working with jihadi forces have occurred in the past, but only the foot soldiers were arrested. The masterminds allegedly remain deeply embedded in the same police force. Jayakumar, who uploaded the videos, said that he fears that this is the handiwork of Pacha Velicham (green light). Pacha Velicham is a group of alleged terrorists who have infiltrated the police department in Kerala.
