Beef Traffickers Open Fire on Police in UP – Accused Shehzad, Monu and Sarfaraz Escape

The police claims of control on beef traffickers in Meerut got exposed after quintals of beef was seized from a residential building just half a kilometer from the Lisadi Gate Police Station.

The incident took place on November 4 morning around 7 A.M. An Informant told the police about the cow slaughtering going on in the house of one Shehzad, located in Eidgah Golden Colony. For the last year and a half, an advertisement reading “This building is for sale” was put up outside the house.

At first, police tried to open the doors of the house, but failed to do so. After circling the house for 10 minutes, they were climbing the walls when the traffickers opened fired on them. The accused fired 5-6 rounds at the police and managed to escape by jumping over to another building. One of the policemen got saved by a very small margin. Large amount of cow meat was recovered inside the building.

Circle officer Dinesh Sharma arrived at the crime scene upon reports of firing along with heavy police force. A veterinary doctor was called at the scene by the police who confirmed that the meat recovered was cow beef. Police seized the meat and buried it. They are now looking for the accused who are on the run.

Police has registered a case against Shehzad and his brother Monu (sons of Mohammad Ayyub) and Sarfaraz (s/o Mohammad Saleem), all residents of Eidgah Golden Colony under charges of attack with intent to murder and beef trafficking.
