AI cameras identify 120 suspects in Mahakumbh stampede investigation

In a significant development, AI-powered surveillance cameras at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj have identified 120 suspicious individuals linked to the tragic stampede on January 29. The Special Task Force (STF) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) are now seriously considering the possibility of a deliberate conspiracy behind the incident, as per reports from Zee News.

Sources indicate that facial recognition technology has been utilized to analyze CCTV footage from the control room, aiding in the identification of suspects. As per India Today, investigators are also scrutinizing over 16,000 mobile numbers that were active in the Sangam Nose area—the epicenter of the tragedy—on the day of the stampede. This has fueled speculations that the chaos may have been orchestrated to incite unrest.

In response, security has been significantly heightened, with additional reinforcements deployed ahead of the upcoming Amrit Snan on Vasant Panchami (February 5). The remaining two major bathing rituals, Magh Purnima (February 12) and Maha Shivratri (February 26), are also under increased security surveillance.

The stampede, which occurred as thousands gathered for the sacred Mauni Amavasya bath, resulted in the deaths of 30 devotees, mostly from Bihar, while over 60 others sustained injuries. As investigations progress, authorities are determined to uncover whether external elements deliberately engineered the disaster to disrupt the religious gathering.

The tragic stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela has raised serious concerns about whether anti-Hindu extremist elements deliberately orchestrated chaos to disrupt the grand religious gathering. With AI cameras identifying 120 suspects and investigators analyzing thousands of mobile records, the possibility of a premeditated act cannot be ruled out. This incident comes amid a rising trend where Hindu celebrations and pilgrimages have been targeted, either through misinformation campaigns or direct disruptions. While the investigation is still ongoing, it is crucial to remain vigilant and uncover the truth behind the incident.
