Kozhikode Corporation is ready to Islamize the famous Tali temple area, thanks to rabidly anti-Hindu leaders like Mohammed Riyas. The Corporation has given Islamic names to the regions of Tali (Thali) Shiva Temple, Kandamkulam Jubilee Hall, the nearby Park, etc. It is alleged that Public Works Department Minister Mohammed Riyas is behind this disturbing scheme. Riyas is also married to CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s only daughter, Veena Vijayan.
Tali Shiva temple, or Tali Mahakshetram, is a Hindu mandir dedicated to the deity Bhagwan Shiva in the heart of Kozhikode city, Kerala. The Tali temple is one of the oldest temples in Kozhikode. It is believed that the Lingam in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple was installed towards the end of Dwaparayuga by Bhagwan Parasuram.
The temple was renovated in the 14th century by Zamorin of Kozhikode. This was the family temple of the Zamorins who had ruled Kozhikode. Although the temple is now under Malabar Devaswom, the Zamorin is the managing trustee. The temple was almost destroyed when Tipu Sultan invaded in the 18th century but was redone in 1964.
Kozhikode Corporation has already started the process of changing the names of the temple and surrounding areas. The name of the Tali temple area has been changed, including on Google Maps. A search of google maps shows it as Markasudawa.
The Arabic word has something to do with Salafism, allegedly the fountainhead of Islamist extremism. Even the local radical Islamists do not use the term and have tried hard to get rid of the ‘Salafi’ tag. This did not deter Riyas; locals say it shows his commitment to jihad.
This incitement of Hindu sentiments has not gone down well with devotees. Residents are raising a solid defense against this, but the Corporation prefers to ignore them. The Jubilee Hall has been renamed Muhammad Abdurrahman Sahib Memorial Hall, and the adjacent park is Naushad Park. No one knows who these figures are.
Residents demanded that the name of Jubilee Hall is retained. They want the park renamed after a former councilor from the area, Krishna Iyer. They are not ready to accept the name Markasudawa given to the Thali temple area and want it dropped.
Following this, Thali Heritage Preservation Committee submitted a petition to Kozhikode Corporation. They accused Minister Riyas and deputy mayor C P Musafar Ahamed is behind this evil conspiracy. Incidentally, even the mayor of Hindu-majority Kozhikode is another Abrahamic, Dr. Beena Philip. All three are Communist Party of India (Marxist) representatives.
Koothattukulam Mahadeva Temple Ernakulam
Riyas and Congress ally MLA Anoop Jacob has earlier desecrated the Koothattukulam Mahadeva Temple in late February at Ernakulam. These two well-known Abrahamic leaders entered the centuries-old temple’s Sanctum Sanctorum wearing shirts. They used the images for propaganda, and this led to widespread protests.
Like most temples in Kerala, men must remove their shirts before entering the Koothattukulam Shiva temple. When Tourism Minister Mohammad Riyas reached the temple, the local MLA Anoop Jacob was present.
These Abrahamic leaders knew that entering the temple wearing shirts was not allowed. Yet the CM’s son-in-law decided to show temple rituals in a bad light. Riyas also shared photos on social media of Anoop and him and a group of cronies (mostly Hindus In Name Only) staring at a sacrificial stone.
Abrahamics habitually mock Hindus by indulging in theatrics like getting married during unauspicious Rahu Kalam. They also ensure they only hurt Hindu sentiments and reserve their best behavior, following all rules, while entering Abrahamic religious places of worship. Local Hindu devotees unitedly agreed that such behavior would not be allowed.
Their arrival and violation of Hindu customs prompted questions about their presence in a Hindu temple. The justification was that the leaders had come to announce a Templetrestoration to be implemented by the communist-run Devaswom Board. There are also allegations that political Islam wants to turn Hindu temples into tourist spots and loot the wealth. Riyas is also the tourism minister of Kerala.
Riyas claimed that five crore rupees were allocated to restore the ancient Koothattukulam Shiva temple. Incidentally, the highly controversial CPM Benami company Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Ltd (ULCCS) was appointed. Communists never consult local devotees or Hindu leaders, especially when it comes to our temples.
The Travancore Devaswom Board usurped Koothattukulam Mahadeva temple back in 2017. Communist media painted the incident as Kerala state becoming a ‘temple savior’. How Hindus lost the temple shows us how misplaced our philanthropy efforts are.
Priorities Jumbled for Hindu Philanthropists?
In September 2022, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani visited and offered prayers at the Guruvayur Shri Krishna temple in the Thrissur district of Kerala. One of the wealthiest men in Bharat, Mukesh, was seen following the strict dress code for devotees that enter the holy Temple. He prayed at the temple’s Sopanam (the inner sanctum) with his family and made offerings to the temple.
Mukesh spent barely 20 minutes in the temple and handed a cheque of Rs.1.51 Cr to the Annadhan Fund. He reached Guuvayur from Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati Balaji temple, offering Rs 1.50 crore. The RIL chief also visited the Shrinathji temple in Rajasthan’s Nathdwara, but his donations remain unknown.
In late January, greedy Devaswom Board officials begged Ananth Ambani for funds in front of one of the wealthiest temples in Kerala. Mukesh Ambani’s son Ananth agreed to help set up a state-of-the-art hospital in the temple town at an estimated cost of Rs.55 Cr. The old building of the present Devaswom Medical Center will be demolished. The new building will have 80,000 square feet of concrete in five stories with specialized dialysis, cardiology, gynecology, and surgery facilities.
Mukesh’s philanthropy managers seek the easy way out and circle only the top Temples in town. Meanwhile, centuries-old ones lie in ruins, only to be used by communists for mere propaganda and corruption. Green communists like Riyas need radical Islamist votes to stay in power, and what better way to gain their confidence than indulge in anti-Hindu rhetoric?
