A video of anti-Hindu ‘animal rights activist’ Ambika Shukla, sister of Maneka Gandhi, making her dogs defecate on temple premises in Delhi has emerged on social media. She reportedly refused to not bring her dogs to the temple despite repeated requests from devotees.
Like her sister attacks traditions (jallikattu/ temple elephants) via PFA, Ambika Shukla takes her unleashed dogs to DEFECATE inside a temple premises everyday against wishes of worshippers. A handle named True Conservative Alliance on X(formerly Twitter) shared videos and pictures of Ambika Shukla bringing her dogs to the temple and letting them defecate there. The handle alleged that she brings 10-12 unleashed dogs to the temple every day and makes them defecate in the sacred spaces, including a pipal tree which is worshiped by devotees. This sacrilegious act has been reportedly going on for months, and despite repeated requests from devotees, Ambika Shukla has refused to stop.
She reportedly refused to clean up the mess, saying that “the temple belongs to the Birlas.” The True Conservative Alliance criticized Ambika’s act, asking what would have happened if she had done it in a mosque or church. As dog feces contain highly toxic and pathogenic elements, it not only dirties the environment but spreads diseases as well. Netizens called for action against Ambika, who appears to play the elite card to harass the public.
Ambika Shukla is the Trustee of People For Animals, a dubious animal rights NGO that has been repeatedly targeting Hindu customs. It was behind the Jallikattu ban and continues to target temple elephants. Calling the practice of using elephants in temple festivals a “tamasha”, in an interview with India Today, Ambika Shukla said, “To parade animals in temples is a sin, and temples have no business in doing so.” Anti-Hindu animal rights activists harassed Puducherry Mankkula Vinayagar temple’s elephant Lakshmi with the help of Maneka Gandhi, as a result of which the jumbo passed away.
The sister duo has been going after parents trying to protect their children from stray dogs. An audio clip of Maneka threatening and abusing a father who hit a stray dog that tried to bite his daughter recently went viral. When a small kid was mauled to death by stray dogs, Ambika said, “Dogs didn’t attack or maul. That child had no business being there unsupervised”. Apart from a sacred space being desecrated, as the dogs she brings to the temple in Delhi are not kept on leashes, people fear being attacked by them, and many netizens raised concerns about the same.
