Help poor Hindus this Durga Puja!

As we celebrate the annual Hindu festival season starting with Durga Puja and going on till Deepawali, it is also time to think of our less privileged Hindu sisters and brothers and bring some cheer in their lives too.

One such initiative has been started by Shri Devdutta Maji, President of social service organization Singha Bahini, a well-known face in West Bengal who has always stood as a rock to help poor and persecuted Hindus of the state and region.

Shri Maji has started a crowd-funding drive during this festival season to raise funds to help poor Hindus and help them practice their Dharma –

“Requesting your generous support to bring smiles to the poorest of the poor of Bengal’s Hindu community this Durga Puja / Navaratri / Dussehra and Kali Puja / Deepawali. These people are on the frontline of Bengal’s battle against rising adharmik forces.

This fundraiser is aimed at the poor, marginalised population who find it impossible to make ends meet. They happen to be the footsoldiers of Dharma in troubled Bengal.

Durga Puja / Navaratri / Dussehra evokes religious fervour that brings immense joy for every Hindu. It is the soul of our existence. Durga embodies Shakti, the destroyer of adharma. She also represents the love and compassion of the Mother. It also commemorates the victory of Prabhu Shri Ram over the Evil.

My team and myself have  taken up an initiative to start a mass movement to reach out to the poorest Hindus. They are the brave ones who fight fearlessly and even lay their lives down for the defence of Hindu Dharma. It is in them that Ma Durga resides. It is in them that the survival of our Hindu civilisation rests.

But ironically, they are the most vulnerable lot. They need to be protected and supported by the educated, well-off Hindus.

With this donation drive, we intend to meet the following objectives:

1. Distributing new clothes, food and other essentials among the poorest in at least 11 of the state’s 24 districts and more than 10,000 individuals.

2. Supporting and training pujaris/priests across caste and gender.

3. Carrying out Dharma Jagaran in challenging areas.

Please contribute for your very own people and for this important civilisational cause.

Jai Ma Durga,

Devdutta Maji

(Social Activist & President of SINGHABAHINI)”
