Conversion mafia – “Healing” pastor Praveen Kumar exploits gullible believers in the name of faith

A video of a mother wailing heartbreakingly recently went viral on social media platform X, but upon investigation, it was found that it is a 4-year-old issue, which went almost entirely unreported at the time. The person in question, Pastor Praveen Kumar from Bellampalli in Telangana, is a self-proclaimed healer. Believing in him unquestioningly, a mother lost her son four years ago.

As recently as August 2023, another naive believer took his deceased mother, hoping she could be resurrected.

Death of a 21-year-old ailing boy

The first incident revolves around an unwavering follower of Pastor Praveen Kumar, who had earned a reputation for his supposed “ability” to heal through divine intervention. This devotee, a mother, had previously seen one of Pastor Praveen Kumar’s healing sessions on television, where he appeared to cure the sick through his touch miraculously. Filled with unwavering faith and hope, she brought her ailing son to the Calvary Church in Telangana, where Pastor Praveen Kumar presided.

Trusting in the power of prayer and divine healing, the mother desperately turned to the pastor, seeking a miracle to save her son. She believed wholeheartedly in the miraculous recoveries she had witnessed on television. However, this visit became a harrowing nightmare for her and her family.

Over five agonising days, Pastor Praveen Kumar retained custody of the ailing young man. During this time, as expected, the pastor did little to alleviate the young man’s deteriorating condition. The mother watched helplessly as her son’s health continued to deteriorate.

As the young man’s condition spiraled out of control, the mother implored Pastor Praveen Kumar and his associates to rush her son to a hospital. However, instead of showing compassion, they orchestrated a cruel ruse. Rather than taking the young man to a medical facility, they arranged for individuals to transport him to an unknown location.

This betrayal left the distraught mother and her son abandoned and alone, their faith shattered by those they had placed their trust in. Fortunately, compassionate passersby intervened upon hearing the mother’s anguished cries, preventing further harm and offering solace to the grieving family.

In this video, she is seen wailing and saying, “No one should face what happened to my son.”

Hope of resurrection of dead mother

The second incident involved a grieving man from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, who embarked on a journey of over 200 kilometers to the Calvary Church. Accompanied by his relatives, he transported his deceased mother’s body in an ambulance to the Church in Bellampalli, hoping for a miraculous revival.

This heartrending act underscores the considerable influence “healing pastors” like Praveen Kumar wielded over vulnerable individuals. These crypto-Christians retain their original Hindu names, attract gullible Hindus, and convert them to Christianity.

These deeply distressing incidents have hardly been reported in mainstream media. It is fitting that authorities take decisive action against individuals like Pastor Praveen Kumar, who exploit the vulnerable through misleading television shows.

Liberals who question the fish medicine that is given for asthma will never challenge the “healing” powers of such fake pastors. They will also not ask the missionaries for their conversion activities.

The onus is on the government and lawmakers to press for greater accountability and stricter regulation of practices that manipulate and deceive individuals under the guise of faith.
