Communal tension in Haryana – Controversy arose due to offering chadar in the mandir in Nangal Mundi, Rewari

Tension prevailed in the village Nangal Mundi in Haryana’s Rewari district late on Wednesday evening when some anti-social elements offered a green chadar belonging to the Islamic community in a Hindu mandir.

Once this news broke, a large number of villagers gathered in the mandir and stated protesting against this anti-dharmic activity. The local police was informed about this sensitive matter, and they immediately reached the village and took the stock of the situation.

Meanwhile, the Panchayat started in the village at night. Till late night the police was engaged in the process of registering the case. It is quite obvious that this act has been done to create communal tension during the Janmashtami festival.

Police are currently investigating the matter and promised to nab the culprits as soon as possible. Meanwhile, an additional police force has been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incident and communal tension. As per the Sarpanch Sundar Devi, such type of incidents have occurred earlier as well, where involvement of a specific community has been found.
