Annamalai targeted for speaking about missionary conspiracy behind cracker ban?

The DMK government in Tamil Nadu has granted permission to proceed with charges against BJP state President K Annamalai for saying that there is a missionary conspiracy behind the firecracker ban during Deepavali. The charges were raised by an Urban Naxal who often spreads fake news against the BJP, PM Modi, and government projects.

Piyush Sethia @ Piyush Manush, an Urban Naxal, had tried to file a complaint against TN BJP President K Annamalai, alleging that he spread fake information. He quoted an interview from 2022 in which Annamalai said that there is a missionary conspiracy behind the Public Interest Litigations seeking a ban on firecrackers in the Supreme Court. The interview was published on a YouTube channel Pesu Tamizha Pesu run by Rajavel Nagarajan, a year ago.

Piyush Manush approached the police with a complaint saying that he looked into the matter and the petitioners were Hindus which means Annamalai spread fake news about Christian NGOs. However, the police didn’t accept the complaint. He went to court seeking to direct them to file a complaint and take action against Annamalai. It appears that the court sought the opinion of the government, and the state public prosecutor gave a reply that there are grounds to book Annamalai for hate speech. On this basis, the DMK government has given permission to prosecute Annamalai and Rajavel Nagarajan for causing fear, stirring hatred, and causing enmity between the two religious communities.

Annamalai has been taking on the missionary mafia for quite some time, exposing their agenda of targeting Hindu culture and their influence in government positions. While talking at a cultural event, Annamalai highlighted how missionaries banned Bharatanatyam in the 1900s with the help of the British government in an attempt to erase all dance and music forms from temples.

In another instance, he accused Davidson Devasirvatham, ex-Additional Director General of Police(Intelligence), of working to promote Christianity. He alleged that after DMK came to power, an agenda was given by Davidson to fill important posts with candidates from a particular community.

“He has got a single-point agenda to promote something in south Tamil Nadu. He clearly has links with missionary groups. He wants such officers in sensitive posts and is handpicking them. They are the ones being placed in power. Be it the Thanjavur Lavanya suicide or the incident exposed by CNN News 18 where the Bible was distributed to children in schools, all of this is an operation run by the Tamil Nadu [police] intelligence department. I am making an open observation. Let them deny it.” Annamalai said.

It is not surprising that he talked about the missionary conspiracy behind banning the bursting of firecrackers during Deepavali. Even though there were Hindu petitioners in the case, it is an open secret that those with a Hindu name but a liberal agenda are trained by so-called civil society backed by missionaries to target Hindus. There have been many instances where missionaries directly targeted Hindu festivals and culture.

Annamalai exposed the rotten system of Christian clergy as well during the Lavanya issue. Lavanya, a 17-year-old Hindu girl, took her life after being tortured by Catholic nuns for not submitting to their pressure to convert. When the issue was raging, Annamalai recalled another similar incident from decades ago when Sukanya, another Hindu girl, was found dead in a well on the premises of the Christian school where she studied. There were allegations of sexual abuse against the clergy, but police closed the case saying it was a suicide. Bringing attention to such incidents, Annamalai sought justice for victims of abuse in Christian schools.

It is no wonder that he has become the target of the missionary mafia. Coming back to Piyush Sethia, who filed a complaint against Annamalai, he was arrested for making inflammatory comments against the Salem-Chennai greenfield highway project during ADMK rule, which would have incited violence in the local community. He has gone silent on the matter after DMK came to power and restarted the project. In another instance, he was arrested for attacking his house owner after not paying rent properly and refusing to vacate the house.

Like every urban naxal, Piyush also abuses Brahmin, is anti-Hindu, and plays to the liberal galaxy. Isha Foundation filed a defamation case against him for accusing it of encroaching upon elephant corridors and questioning its ‘Rally for Rivers’ campaign, a program to desilt and link rivers across the country. He made ridiculous comments against the Defence Corridor proposal as well, making it out like industries were going to manufacture guns in the vicinity. Such a serial liar accusing Annamalai of lying and the DMK government allowing prosecution shows that in yet another attempt to curb critical voices, DMK has used its slave aka environmental activist.
