Hindu Janjagruti Samiti’s (HJS) Rupesh Dubey is a well-known activist in Mumbai’s Mira-Bhayandar area. He is now being targeted by the BHIM-MIM alliance for standing up for Hindu rights. From ground reports, we can also safely conclude that a section of the police is acting in favour of BHIM-MIM alliance and deliberately troubling Hindu activists like Rupesh.
Islamist attack on Hindus
No Hindu festival passes without Islamists attacking it. A similar incident unfolded in Mumbai’s suburb Mira-Bhayandar forcing the intervention of activist Rupesh to secure Hindu rights. Trouble began when Islamists took objection to Hindus praying in the Mandir on the occasion of Datta Jayanti (4 December) and attacked the family. They attackers even assaulted minors after forcibly entering the home of the Hindu family. Moreover, Kashigaon Police Station PSI Bagga is accused of having threatened Hindus with FIRs instead of taking action against the Islamists.
“PSI Bagga has taken money from Muslims and is therefore, not acting against them. In fact, he told us that he would take cross FIRs from Muslims and the Hindus can do what they like. I have the authority and power. He is protecting the Islamists deliberately,” accused activist Rupesh Dubey.
Vinod is the victim of Islamist violence. He and his family was targeted after a minor dispute with one of the Muslim rickshaw driver, who was asked to move his rickshaw to make space for the autorickshaw in which the Hindu family was travelling. Initially, 5 to 6 Muslim rickshaw drivers forced their way into Vinod’s house, assaulted the women and minor children and vandalised his house. These 5 to 6 were joined by more people later. Last reported, Vinod was at the Kashigaon Police Station along with several Hindu activists, including Bajrang Dal members.
BHIM-MIM alliances levels false allegations against Rupesh Dubey
Rupesh is now paying the price for demanding justice for the Hindu family. Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) members, along with Islamists, protested at the police station demanding action against Rupesh for apparently attempting to ‘disturb’ communal harmony. They also leveled false allegations that he abused Muslims when in reality we found nothing of the sort in the videos available with us. However, FIR has been filed against the activist for ‘abusing’ Muslims.
This is a typical BHIM-MIM playbook for targeting Hindus. They pick random words from statements made by Hindu activists and present them without context. This helps them in their propaganda against Hindus where they allege that Hindus are ‘disturbing’ communal harmony. In this case as well we can observe that VBA members have not uttered a single word (not that one would expect them to) against Islamist rickshaw drivers who assaulted Hindus only because they asked one of them to move his rickshaw.
A section of the police also seems to be hand-in-gloves with the BHIM-MIM alliance. Nothing else explains the hostility of the police towards Hindu activist Rupesh Dubey and the filing of FIR against him on flimsy grounds.
The reality of BHIM-MIM alliance
BHIM-MIM alliance is nothing but a myth where Islamists and Dalit Jai Bhim leaders are using the community for their selfish needs. Numerous incidents of Islamists attacking ‘Dalits’ have been reported while Dalit leaders turn a blind eye to these attacks because it doesn’t fit their agenda and propaganda. Fact remains that while Dalits have extended support and solidarity to Muslims during various crises, this gesture has not been reciprocated.
Rather, multiple incidents across two decades show Muslims engaging in outright violence against Buddhist communities—not only in regional flashpoints like Sri Lanka and Myanmar but also in Bharatiya states and international hotspots where inter-community relations matter deeply. These events, found in local and national reports, unravel the hollow nature of BHIM-MIM politics and challenge the anti-Hindu narrative that seeks to delegitimize Hindu society’s cohesive fabric.
By promoting BHIM-MIM, anti-Hindu ideologues claim moral high ground. Yet, these same circles remain silent when Dalits are persecuted by Muslims, demonstrating gross hypocrisy and selective outrage. The reason why Neo-Ambedkarite leaders target Hindu activists like Rupesh Dubey is that the latter are unapologetically Hindu and dare to call out Islamists. This is inconvenient for parties like VBA that won’t bat an eyelid to sacrifice their fellow community members for Muslim appeasement.
The ‘Hindutvawadi’ Mahayuti government and CM Devendra Fadnavis also need to reign in a section of the police that is hostile to activists standing up for Hindu rights. Hindu Samaj must rally behind activists like Rupesh Dubey who are fighting for Hindu rights and standing firmly behind affected Hindus. This will send a strong message to the anti-Hindu brigade.
