A 38-year-old Islamist man, identified by police as Majid Nadaf, has been arrested in Old Hubballi for showing obscene videos on his mobile phone to a minor girl and attempting to behave inappropriately with her. As per Sanatan Prabhat reports, the incident came to light after the child informed her parents about his misconduct, following which the family approached the Old Hubballi Police Station and lodged a complaint.
According to the police, Majid Nadaf had gained the child’s confidence over several weeks by regularly speaking to her as she passed his house on her way to school. Majid reportedly gave her small amounts of money and asked her to purchase items for him. Investigators allege that he subsequently showed her sexually obscene content on his mobile phone and made inappropriate advances towards her.
The incident triggered anger among local residents, and a group of women reportedly confronted the accused, Majid Nadaf, and taught him a lesson with slippers. Police intervened, took Nadaf into custody, and initiated an investigation. Officials are also examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and gathering further information about the accused Islamist and his background.
