West Bengal: Unknown miscreants vandalised the under-construction Ram Mandir in Coochbehar

An under-construction Ram Mandir has been vandalised in the Coochbehar district of West Bengal.

According to the information, some local Hindus were building a Ram Mandir in the Bhetaguri area of Coochbehar district. The temple is being made of stone. Local Hindus also brought workers from Rajasthan to build the temple.

On the night of the 3rd of February, unknown miscreants attacked that temple and broke several parts of the temple.

A local resident said, “We have no idea who did this. Since the beginning of the construction, several people have been objecting. We demand strong action against the accused.”

However, after the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, some Hindus of the Bhetaguri area decided to build a Ram Mandir in the village. They also approached local MP Shri Nishith Pramanik for help. Local Hindus also run a crowdfunding in the area. The construction was almost completed. But, the temple came under attack on the night of the 3rd of February.

On the evening of the 4th of February, some local Hindus gathered in front of the under-construction Ram Mandir and lighted lamps. Holding placards in hand, they demanded intense punishment for the accused.

As of now, no one has been arrested.
