Assam: Attack in the Radhakrishna temple in Cachar, Murtis vandalised

Amid the election campaign of Lok Sabha, a Hindu temple came under attack in Udharband of the Cachar district. Unknown miscreants attacked the famous Kalachand Ashram and the Radhakrishna temple inside it.

As per the sources, yesterday night, around 2 AM, Pujari of the temple and Ashram heard bizarre sounds. He eventually woke up and saw that some people were breaking the Murti of the temple. He shouted in fear and the miscreants ran away.

Later, the Pujari and Ashram authority informed the Udharband Police. Immediately, a police team led by OC Haukam Changsang reached the temple.

The Pujari of the temple said, “The Murti of Radhakrishna was broken and thrown away in the ground. Another Murti of Sri Krishna was also broken. The miscreants also attacked the Durga temple inside the Ashram. They broke the grill gate, but couldn’t harm the murti.”

Meanwhile, an investigation has been going on. As of now, no one has been identified or arrested.
