West Bengal: Son of TMC leader abducts and rapes a minor Hindu girl in Nadia, arrested

Another case of abduction and rape has unfolded from Shantipur of Nadia district of West Bengal. A minor girl is allegedly abducted and raped by an influential TMC leader’s son. After receiving the complaint, the police arrested the accused.

The accused has been identified as Arjun Biswas. He is the son of Pintu Biswas, a local TMC leader.

As per the reports, on the night of Holi, the minor girl was alone at her home. The accused, Arjun Biswas, entered the house and dragged her to a lonely place. Later, a complaint was filed in the Shantipur Police Station. The Police immediately launched an investigation and arrested the accused.

As the case unfolded, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari targeted the Mamata Banerjee-led govt and its law and order situation regarding the safety of women.

On social media platform ‘X’, Suvendu Adhikari wrote, “Be it Sandeshkhali, Shantipur, Hanskhali or Kaliyaganj; sexual crimes perpetrated by TMC Leaders and their relatives proves that the culprits are emboldened by the non existent Law and Order Situation in the State and the free hand extended to the TMC Leaders by the Mamata Police. These sexual predators don’t have any fear of the Law or can’t even imagine that they will be taken to task by the Police, that’s why they keep repeating such sexual offence across the State.” He also shared a copy of the FIR and the photo of the accused.
