West Bengal: 3 Hindu Sadhus were tortured, stripped naked and beaten in Purulia

Three Hindu Sadhus were brutally tortured in Purulia district of West Bengal. Based on rumours, local residents tortured them. Later, the Police recovered them. 

As per the reports, the Sadhus are residents of Uttar Pradesh. They were going to Gangasagar in a rented car. On their journey, on the 11th of January, they stopped at Gourangadi village of Purulia for refreshments. They have their cook with them. 

Meanwhile, some locals spread rumours that the Sadhus kidnapped three minor girls from the area and gathered others. They gheraoed the Sadhus and started to beat them.

The Sadhus faced brutal torture. They were stripped naked, manhandled and badly beaten. In a viral video of the incident, it has been seen that some locals were dragging the Sadhus on the road by grabbing their hair. 

Later, the Police from the Kashipur Police Station reached the spot and recovered them from the angry locals. 

As of now, the Police arrested 12 people.
