An altercation over payment dues of just Rs. 2000 led to the killing of Sushil (38) from Garwarkheda village near Unnao, UP at the hands of Shafiq and his accomplices from neighboring Thana village. The accused beat up the victim and his relatives, and many were injured following which they were admitted to the hospital. Unfortunately, Sushil died on the night of June 5th following which the police arrested three including Shafiq.

Trouble began on June 1st when Sushil’s father Babu sold eucalyptus trees worth ten thousand rupees to Shafiq. On June 3rd, Shafiq reached their village and handed over eight thousand rupees. Sushil wanted the rest following which an argument ensued. Shafiq called up his village gang and a group of eighteen soon arrived.
They then proceeded to beat up the victims following which Sushil, his mother Kamala, Vinod, Manoj, Binu, and Devraj were injured and shifted to hospital. Sushil’s situation worsened and he was referred to another hospital where he breathed his last.
News spread following which communal tension prevailed in the village. SWAT and quick reaction police teams were rushed to the spot and charges filed. The FIR names six including Shafiq, Imran, Afzal, Iqbal, Aftab, and against 15 unknown persons. Shafiq, Iqbal, and Aftab have been taken into custody.
