Satara, MH: Hindus forced to leave ancestral homes after harassment by Islamists

In Karanja Lad, a town in Maharashtra’s Satara district, Hindu families are abandoning their ancestral homes due to fear of jihadi attacks and harassment, including the molestation of Hindu girls. The once Hindu-dominated area has seen a significant demographic shift, with Islamist jihadis now constituting 70% of the population.

Based on Sudarshan News reports, currently, only four Hindu families remain in Karanja Lad. The town, which was once predominantly Hindu, has undergone substantial changes, with jihadis not only taking over properties but also renaming streets and pushing an agenda of Islamization.

Over the past few years, ten Hindu families have sold their properties and left the area. Islamist Jihadis have acquired these properties, and the remaining Hindu families are being forced out of their homes, with Jihadis exerting control over the region.

Local residents report that Islamist jihadis have been intimidating and threatening Hindu families, driving them out of their homes, and asserting dominance over the area. There have been alarming incidents of harassment and violence, particularly targeting Hindu girls. The situation has not only disrupted the lives of local Hindu families but also posed a severe threat to their religious and cultural identity. Appeals are being made to the administration and law enforcement agencies to take this issue seriously and provide security to the affected families.

Immediate and stringent action is necessary to address this crisis, ensuring that Hindu families can live safely in their homes and that peace and harmony are restored in Karanja Lad.

Instances of mass Hindu exodus in Bharat in the recent past

Kairana, UP

There have been similar incidents in Bharat where communal tensions have led to the displacement of Hindus due to harassment and threats from Islamist groups. A notable example occurred in Kairana, Uttar Pradesh, where many Hindu families were forced to leave their homes due to threats and violence from local criminal elements, which were often communal in nature. Over the past four years, Kairana in Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a troubling exodus of more than 250 Hindu families. Recent reports highlights the systematic targeting of Hindu businesses through extortion, threats, kidnappings, and murders. This relentless campaign of violence has forced many to flee, leaving once-thriving settlements barren and numerous Hindu homes locked and abandoned.

As the violence continued unabated, Hindu residents of mixed-population localities such as Darbar Kallan, Aalkala, Gumbad, Aryapuri, Ghosa Chungi, Afganan, and Kayasthabada saw no choice but to abandon their homes to ensure their safety. Today, most of these families have sold their properties and relocated to other cities. The remaining Hindu homes display “For Sale” signs, and those still residing in Kairana live in constant terror.

Mewat, Haryana

In Mewat, Haryana, there have been incidents of Hindus migrating due to increasing criminal activities and communal tensions. Reports indicate that violent clashes have occurred, particularly in Nuh, where communal tensions have led to significant unrest. During a religious procession by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, stones were pelted and vehicles were set on fire, escalating the conflict. Such incidents have created a climate of fear, prompting some Hindu families to leave the area.

The increasing incidents of radical Islamism across various regions in Bharat, such as Karanja Lad in Maharashtra, Mewat in Haryana, and Kairana in Uttar Pradesh, highlight a disturbing trend where Hindu lives and properties are under significant threat. These cases illustrate a broader pattern of predatory Islamism aiming to dominate and displace Hindu communities through fear and violence. The failure of local authorities and law enforcement to provide adequate protection and justice exacerbates the situation, eroding trust in the administrative systems meant to safeguard all citizens.
