A Christian woman has leveled sexual exploitation charges against a pastor of Jesus Redeems Ministries. It is run by tele-evangelist Mohan C Lazarus who often spews venom against Hindus. His NGO has been accused of violating FCRA rules. The accused pastor reportedly threatened the woman saying he knows TN Assembly Speaker Appavu and no one can do anything to him.
A woman reached out to the Tirunelveli District Collector after police failed to act on her complaints against a pastor. She has accused one Samuel, a pastor working for Jesus Redeems Ministries, of sexually exploiting her on the promise of marriage. The pastor had a sexual relationship with the woman for more than 10 years, promising to marry her. But he married another woman and abused the victim when she questioned him.
He reportedly recorded their intimate moments and threatened her saying he’ll upload them on the internet. The victim accused him of physically abusing her when she refused to comply with his demands and duped her of Rs.2 lakh money. The pastor’s uncle also threatened to finish her off claiming that he knows influential people. It is alleged that the pastor took TN Assembly Speaker Appavu’s name to frighten the victim. As a result of continuous threatening she tried to take her life.
The victim told the media that the pastor could have exploited many women like her and sought the police to take severe action against him. Meanwhile Jesus Redeems has claimed that the pastor left their organisation 6 months ago and is no longer associated with them. It should be noted that the exploitation went on for 10 years while the pastor was an employee of the NGO.
Evangelist Mohan Lazarus who runs Jesus Redeems is a rabid anti-Hindu who leaves no chance to abuse Hindu dharma. Once he told his congregation that Bharat is poor because of vigraha aradhana comparing murti puja with prostitution. He had to express ‘regret’ through the court when Hindu activists pulled him up for saying, “No other state in India has as many structures for Satan as Tamil Nadu does. Why does Satan have such a stronghold in TN? No other state has as many temples and Satanic structures”.
To ‘motivate’ his followers he often makes incendiary remarks and once he advised them to convert 6 lakh Hindus in Tiruchendur, a temple town. His Jesus Redeems Trust was reported for violating the rules of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010.
