An unidentified dead body of a man, with the person’s neck cut with a sharp weapon, was found in a well in Mumbai. The police began searching for the missing person reports in nearby police stations but could not identify whose body it was. Subsequently, they got the boy’s face published in the newspaper. Uttar Pradesh Police (UP) contacted Mumbai Police and revealed that the dead body was that of Ramesh, who was a resident of UP’s Banda. This turned out to be another case where a Hindu man lost his life for loving and marrying a Muslim woman.
Ramesh and Gulnaz had a love marriage
Ramesh and Gulnaz fell in love and decided to get married. They married in the court. Both wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, whether they got family support or not. Therefore, they started living in Banda. They set up a small shop to earn their living. However, their lives took a tragic turn when Gulnaz’s family hatched a conspiracy to murder Ramesh.
Gulnaz’s family plans & murders Ramesh
One day Gulnaz got a call from her mother from Mumbai. Gulnaz’s mother called her daughter and son-in-law to Mumbai by showing false love. The daughter agreed to visit her maternal family along with Ramesh as she felt that her mother had a change of heart, but little did she know that it was only a trap. After calling them to Mumbai, Gulnaz’s family killed Ramesh. His throat was slit, and the body was thrown into the well.
Gulnaz was worried for her husband when Ramesh went missing. However, her parents were not ready to reveal anything to her. She wanted to go to the police, which turned her parents against her, and they even killed their daughter. They strangulated her with a rope and threw her body into the forest.
The entire sequence of events came to light during the police investigation. It further came to light that apart from her parents, Gulnaz’s brother Salman is also involved in the murders. Mumbai Police interrogated Gulnaz’s brother Salman and father Raisuddin Khan in the case. Both have confessed to their crime.
