Additional Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Shrivastava said that the 15-year-old deaf and mute victim, who belongs to an SC (‘Dalit’) community, was gangraped by the two accused when she had gone to collect wood on Wednesday. “The accused threatened the victim not to lodge a complaint,” he said.

The accused Mohammad Rizwan and Zulqarnain are residents of Thulendi under Bachhrawan police station. “A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POCSO Act has been lodged against the accused and they are being sent to jail,” the officer said.
