“Maharashtra: Naim Qureshi booked for slaughtering cow ahead of Eid, two accomplice absconding”, Organiser, April 11, 2024:
“In a recent development, the Kashigao Police station in Maharashtra’s Mumbai has booked an individual identified as Naim Saif Qureshi for his alleged involvement in the activity of cow slaughter. The incident took place in the Minakshi Nagar area of Mira Road in the city. As per reports, the accused, along with two unidentified associates, allegedly slaughtered a cow ahead of the Islamic festival of Eid.
Naim Saif Qureshi has been detained by the police and is currently undergoing interrogation. However, the two other associates who were allegedly involved in the slaughter managed to flee from the spot upon seeing the police approaching on the night of April 9th.
The FIR filed in this case includes charges under sections 429 and 32 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, sections 5C, 9A, and 9B of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1976, and sections 3 and 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960……”
