Kolhapur witnessed violent clashes on the night of August 22 leaving 10 persons injured and several vehicles damaged. ABP News reported that the clashes erupted after Jumma (Friday) evening prayers over a ‘minor misunderstanding’ leading to property damage as well as injuries to citizens.
Two communities clash in Kolhapur’s Siddharthnagar
Late on Friday night, 22 August 2025, a seemingly innocuous local celebration escalated into a violent confrontation in Kolhapur’s Siddharthnagar area. What had started as a modest programme commemorating the 31st anniversary of the Rajebagswar Football Club quickly spiraled into a serious public disturbance.
Reports state, the trouble began over the placement of banners and sound equipment for the football club anniversary event. What began as a complaint about noise and street congestion quickly escalated. The installation of banners, flex posters, and a loudspeaker system for the event sparked unhappiness among residents, who cited discomfort and traffic inconvenience. The resulting disagreements rapidly devolved into a heavy stone-pelting exchange, widespread vandalism, and arson, with at least two to six vehicles set ablaze and several more damaged. Authorities confirmed that around ten people were injured, some reports noting that among those injured were also two policemen.
Police acted quickly to contain the situation, deploying over 200 personnel to the scene. They resorted to lathi-charge in an effort to restore calm, while authorities and local community leaders urged residents to reject rumours and maintain peace. So far, a case has been registered, with more than 200 individuals named in the FIR, 31 of whom have been identified. Also, further investigations were underway and the accused were set to be arrested as per the last available reports.

However, the Kolhapur violence is not merely a clash between two communities as the mainstream media (MSM) is trying to pass it off. HinduPost learnt from ground sources that this was a pre-planned attack with Islamists attacking the houses of Bhimsainiks (SC community members). They used the police action of asking them to turn off the speakers as an excuse to launch the attack and damage property as well as injure locals.
The attack began at around 9.45 AM when Islamists pelted stones and used petrol to set fire to the vehicles. These were not random clashes but well-directed targeted attacks. Shops and Galas of SC community members were specifically vandalized and set ablaze.
BHIM-MIM politics
The BHIM-MIM narrative have been repeatedly challenged and Kolhapur’s incident is the latest addition to the list. In July 2023, HinduPost had reported ten incidents of Islamist violence against the SC Community from Rajasthan alone that challenged the secular narrative. In 2021, Bhim Army District President Ranjit Paswan was stabbed to death by Shahbaz Ansari over a minor dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Muzaffarnagar.
Dalit MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy had a first-hand experience of the Islamic Jihadi mob mentality and the damage they are capable of causing. Despite the fact that he considered Muslims as ‘his brothers’ for the last 25 years, the mob burned down his 50-year-old house. The Kolhapur incident is another reminder that the secular BHIM-MIM narrative is nothing but an attempt to divide the Hindu Samaj. SC community leaders need to discard this at the earliest if they really care for the welfare of their community.
