Shivam Sagar took his life after his wife Khushboo left him for not converting to Islam

A young man named Shivam Sagar in Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Kanpur took his life after his wife left him because he didn’t convert to Islam. The woman also accused him of rape, leading to his arrest. After getting out of jail, the man, 25-year-old tragically took his own life by hanging himself, recording a video before doing so.

The victim, who worked as a DJ at weddings, had been married to a Muslim girl named Khushboo three years ago. Their relationship was troubled, and Shivam had previously attempted suicide. Khushboo had returned to her in-laws’ house after the incident. According to family members, a new conflict arose between the couple during Diwali, leading her to go to her maternal home. This pushed Shivam into depression, and he subsequently committed suicide. According to Shivam’s family members, Khushboo was pressurizing him to embrace Islam & had filed a rape complaint for the same.

The police have sent Shivam’s body for postmortem, and they reported that the family rushed him to Hallett Hospital when he was found breathing faintly. Unfortunately, he passed away, and the postmortem was scheduled for Wednesday (December 3) due to administrative delays. Kanpur Police acknowledged the severe nature of the allegations in the case, stating that the investigation is ongoing.
