Kerala: 14-year-old Hindu twin girls missing, CCTV cameras show them leave with classmates Afzal and Arshad

14-year-old Hindu twins Sreya & Sreja went missing from Alathur in the Palakkad district of Kerala on Wednesday, November 3. Also missing are their classmates Arshad, son of Yakkoob of Chundakkad, and Afzal Mohammad, son of Abdul Manaf of Melarcod. Sureshkumar, the father of the girls came to know about the disappearance two hours after they left and complained to the police.

All those missing are students of ASM higher secondary school, a minority aided institution. CCTV visuals confirmed their presence in Palakkad where the group was seen roaming in a park. Police assume that they boarded a bus from the Palakkad bus station and allegedly fled to Tamil Nadu.

Police teams from both Alathur & Palakkad are engaged in search operations but have not succeeded in finding them. Local media suggested that one of the girls was seen holding a mobile phone but the parents deny buying them one. It was switched off shortly after the girls left.

Alathur CI Riyaz Chakkeeri said that this was a preplanned trip. They took some money from their homes and are now wandering around. Accommodation for 14-year-olds who are on their own is difficult but it seems illegal homestays in Tamil Nnadu arrange them. He added that there are ‘no other motives’.

Hindus do not have the same opinion and some openly came out suspecting grooming jihad. The missing persons list from Alathur, represented by Kerala assembly speaker and communist ex MP MB Rajesh, is widening even as the police remain hapless. Incidentally, Rajesh himself is married to a ‘communist’ Muslim.

Barely 2 months have passed since the similar disappearance of Surya Krishna (21), daughter of Radhakrishnan from Bharathan Nivas. She is a second-year BA student. Police are still groping in the dark and the girl missing since August 30 is yet to be traced.

Adarsh, s/o Raveendranath, staying at Amrita House is missing since the February 6. Both these missing cases were reported from Alathur.

Jasna Mariya James, another second-year B.Com student is missing from Ranni in the Pathanamthitta district since March 2018. The police failed to find her and it is alleged that she now lives in a Muslim seminary at Mangaluru in neighboring Karnataka. Those reports have kindled suspicions of forced conversion to Islam.

Kerala police faltering when it comes to grooming jihad and cases involving communists or their cronies indicates the complete politicization and infiltration of the force.

Palakkad and Thrissur are the last few districts where the jihadi menace emanating from neighboring Malappuram was missing. Most Hindus here still preserve old Sanatan customs. All that seems to be changing, fast.
