A Ganpati Visarjan procession was pelted with stones in Vanjar Patti Naka of Bhiwandi in Mumbai’s suburb Thane. Following the incident, Ghungat Nagar Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal stopped the procession. The police resorted to a mild lathicharge to bring the situation under control. Despite the police interference, the procession didn’t move till 2.30 AM as devotees sat in protest against the incident. BJP MLA Mahesh Chaugule met the Ganpati Mandal members.
Islamists pelt stones on Ganesh Visarjan Procession
At around 1 AM when the procession was headed from Ghunghat Nagar towards the Nadinaka Kamwari River stones were pelted, leaving a few individuals injured. An India TV News report states that people near the Hindustani Mosque threw stones at the murti damaging it.
After the incident, tensions flared as the people of the Mandal protested the destruction of the vigraha. According to sources, the crowd apprehended a young man and handed him over to the police. In response, the Mandal members demanded that the murti would not be immersed until all those responsible for the act were arrested.
Despite police efforts, Ganesh devotees insisted on the immediate arrest of the accused and refused to proceed with the Ganpati immersion until their demands were met. As the crowd swelled, a scuffle broke out between them and the police. In response, the police resorted to a mild lathi charge, resulting in injuries to several people, including both civilians and officers.
As word of the incident spread, more members of the Mandal gathered at the site, chanting Jai Shri Ram. The crowd quickly grew as people from both communities assembled, creating a tense atmosphere. Senior police officers soon arrived to defuse the situation, attempting to calm the crowd.
According to available information, some of the devotees were also manhandled by the Islamist crowd. A policeman was also reportedly injured in the stone pelting. The police have arrested a few suspects and registered a case. Further investigations are ongoing.
Hindu processions attacked
This isn’t the first time stones have been pelted on a Hindu festive procession. Islamists have a history of stone pelting on every peaceful Hindu procession. Here are some other recent instances:
1) Islamists pelted stones on a Hindu religious procession taken out on the occasion of Jaljhulani Ekadashi in Jahazpur town of Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district on September 14.
2) In February, Islamists threw stones at a procession carrying a Maa Saraswati murti for immersion, passed through the Kasai Mohalla (Butchers’ Colony) in Muriya of Bihar’s Darbhanga district. The mob hurled stones, looted nearby houses, vandalized the area, and desecrated the Saraswati Devi vigraha. The procession was part of the Basant Panchami festival celebrations held on 14 February.
3) Stone pelting, arson, and fatal attacks on Hindu processions celebrating the Sri Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha were reported from across Jharkhand. Hindus celebrating Pran Pratishtha by taking out Shobha Yatras were attacked in several places of Bharat.
4) The Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra was attacked in Haryana’s Mewat. Nearly 2500 people including children were forced to seek shelter in the Mandir and they were trapped there as Islamists resorted to stone-pelting.
5) Stones have been pelted on Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav process across the nation. Last March, incidents of stone pelting and attacks were reported from Maharashtra, Bengal, and Gujarat.
Not only in Bharat but such instances of Islamist violence have been reported in Nepal and Islamist Pakistan and Bangladesh too. In October last year, an Islamist mob reportedly attacked a Hindu procession after a dispute regarding flag hoisting. Several people including police were injured in the violence.
Despite the repeated attacks, the Indian state remains indifferent and has hardly taken any strict action against the perpetrators.
The liberal-secular-Islamist cabal has attacked our festivals and transformed them into days when Hindus are restricted in the name of ‘security and maintaining communal harmony’. The situation has turned so bad that anything and everything associated with the Hindu community has become intolerable to the Hinduphobes within so-called ‘minority’ communities and their liberal-secular counterparts. They try everything, constitutional or unconstitutional, to kill the festive vibes of the Hindu community in any part of the country.
