Islamist mob launched an unprovoked attack on Hindus celebrating Holi, 2 injured in stone-pelting: Agra, UP

A group of Hindus celebrating the Holi festival in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district was attacked by an Islamist mob on Monday (25 March). The attackers, including women, used sharp weapons and shouted slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” while abusing Holika Mata. Two people were injured in the attack, which took place in the Rakabganj police station area. The incident occurred when some people were playing Holi in the street in front of Idgah SR Hospital in the Kutulpur area.

Vishwajit Patra, a resident, filed a complaint stating that the mob attacked the celebrations around 2-2:30 pm, pelting stones and wielding sharp weapons and sticks. The attackers also raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad,” causing panic. Two victims, Vishwajeet and Mithun, were injured and are being treated at a local hospital.

The attackers named in the complaint included Jamil, Salim, Rahees, Shaukat, Bunty, Bhaiya, Ishaad, Chand, and Chaman, along with women Shaheen, Shaheed, Haroon, Imran, Asin, Pappan, Shikki, Rahmani, and others. In addition, 40-50 unknown attackers are mentioned in the FIR.

Police have acted against them under various sections of the IPC. Hindu organizations have demanded strict action against the accused, alleging that the same attackers had targeted Hindus on Diwali as well. Bajrang Dal officials claim that Hindus were beaten by Muslims in separate squads, calling it a well-planned conspiracy.
