Islamic cleric caught molesting a minor in Gurugram, Haryana

22-year-old Islamic cleric Gulshan Narwar was arrested after locals caught him molesting a minor inside a mosque. The victim is a 9-year-old girl. Locals thrashed him before handing him over to the Pataudi police in the Gurugram district of Haryana.

A video available on social media showed the pedophile allege that he did nothing wrong other than ‘kiss’ the girl. Though his ‘Aadhaar Card’ mentions his age as 22, he looks much older and is a native of Muzaffarnagar district, west UP.

The young girl had gone to the mosque with food for the local maulvi around 12 noon, but he had gone out on some work. Sensing his chance, Gulshan molested the child.

The girl ran home and disclosed what happened to her mother, who then confronted him along with locals. On the basis of a complaint filed by the parents of the child, police filed an FIR.

Gulshan had come here last Friday to solicit donations for a mosque in Saharanpur. Locals demanded that the police verify the identity of Islamists living in the mosque as and when they arrive. Villagers alleged that people come in large numbers and stay in mosques. No police verification is and it is encouraging an influx of criminals like Gulshan.

This mosque also has a history of sheltering Islamists who were on the run during the 1st phase of lockdowns last year. Back then, Tablighi Jamaat-affiliated foreign nationals who fled Delhi had stayed illegally in mosques all over Bharat. Infections had soared across Pataudi City and neighboring villages and 4 died in the immediate aftermath.

The accused was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
