26-year-old Dablu Singh was assaulted and stabbed to death by two men, Farhan and Shah Alam, in west Delhi’s Raghubir Nagar on Tuesday night, said police.
Police added they arrested the suspects and booked them for murder and destruction of evidence, as a knife they allegedly used in the crime was missing. The dead man and his killers lived in the same neighbourhood.
After the murder came to light, tension gripped the neighbourhood. Police claimed there was “no issue of communal disharmony” in the area because of the murder.
A case was registered and two suspects were apprehended following raids. The two were identified as Farhan alias Ladla, 20, and his friend Shahalam alias Chhana, 24, both residents of TC Camp in Raghubir Nagar.
A preliminary investigation into the case revealed that Singh was friends with the sister of one of the arrested men. The woman’s brother was against that friendship and had warned Singh to stay away from her. The two had an altercation over the issue previously as well and had threatened each other, the police said.
As per some social media handles, Dablu Singh aka Badal was friends with the accused.
On Tuesday night, the two men stopped Singh in a lane in their neighbourhood and assaulted him. One of them stabbed him in the neck before fleeing the crime scene. Singh himself reached the hospital in an auto-rickshaw. However, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, said a police officer, who did not want to be identified.
“We are probing if Singh’s murder has anything to do with his friendship with the woman from the other community. The other possibilities are also being looked into,” said the officer.
Raghbir Nagar is the same area of West Delhi where Ankit Saxena, 23, was lynched to death in broad daylight in February, 2018, by the family members of his Muslim girlfriend.
There has been a spree of such murders or attacks on Hindu men and their families in Delhi-NCR by the families of Muslim women over suspected relationships. Ankit Saxena, Rahul Rajput, gym trainer Devi Singh who is struggling for life in hospital, and now Dablu Singh are just some of the recent examples. Cases of Hindu girls being murdered by Muslim stalkers/boyfriends/husbands are even more – Riya Gautam, Priti Mathur, Naina Kaur, Nandini, Juhi, Neetu Sharma being some examples from Delhi alone.
But not one ‘secular’ leader or celebrity ever talks about these cases, and even BJP leaders never raise them in a meaningful manner. However, if even one Muslm dies or is the victim of some crime, a well-oiled and globally networked propaganda machinery begins to dehumanize Hindus.
