In Bikaner’s Gangshahar police station area, a case of Islamist Zakir Hussain Shaikh and three other members of his family beating an SC (Scheduled Caste) family and forcibly taking away the girl has come to light.
Sumit Dharu, son of Sanjay Valmiki and resident of Vinoba Basti Hal Rajiv Nagar Bikaner, reported that he had a love marriage with Sania on 22 December 2023. On 10 March, Zakir Hussain Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shaikh, Sahil Shaikh, Ruksana Shaikh, and 10-15 other people came to his house, assaulted his father, and forcibly took Sania away. The police have registered a case against the accused and launched an investigation into the matter. RPS Himanshu Sharma is investigating the case.
In recent times, many cases of Hindu-Muslim marriages have come to the fore where the Muslim side has shown intolerance. This has, at times, even cost the lives of either the couple or the Hindu man/woman.
